SOURCE: 1st and o/d gear do not work and O/D light flashes

dealers are very rude and they will all ways charge you more money then needed. I got codes for my car from and personal owner (small business) they did a check engain scan and the codes came up and they were very nice after I had asked if they would please write down the meanings of the codes, When they did that there were some that they did not know but the parts store like schuck's will scan for free and again they will also write down what part you will need for the code and they should also know about those other codes as well. I do live in Vancouver, Wa and I'm not sure where you are located but the people that are helping you should like they really don"t want to help. Rude people every where.

SOURCE: over drive light flashes

P0743 is Torque Converter Clutch solenoid circuit failure during self-test.
P0750 is SS1(shift solenoid) solenoid circuit failure.
P0755 is SS2 solenoid circuit failure.

Sounds like you are having an intermitant electrical failure to the tranny. Check the connector at the Tranny and make sure you don't have a loose connector and check it for corrosion.Trace these 3 wires back GN/WH, GN/Y, and GN/O. these go back to a splice then go into one wire GN/Y and then to the PCM relay in the engine compartment fuse panel. Make sure that this harness is not chaffing on metal somewhere or maybe the splice is going bad.You can try and overlay it from the relay to one of the 3 wires at the tranny connector and see if this solves the concern.

SOURCE: ford e250 2005 year wont shift out of second gear.

1st.. check fuse for clutch solenoid/relay. 2nd... replace clutch solenoid/relay. 3rd... check for damaged wiring to trransmission or connector to transmission. If all these are correct, see your Ford Dealer.

99 ford f150 o/d light flashing p1740 code but truck drives fine

I believe it's a transmission overdrive clutch not engaging. Likely it accelerates and up shifts fine except for the last shift into overdrive.

So the mileage may be be lower than usual on longer trips.

Engine bogging down and overdrive light flashing. its throwing codes like one is for the transmission shift selonoid and the torque converter clutch selonoids why is that making the engine bog down.

Sounds like it is trying to shift but can't and that puts too much load on the engine which bogs down. Try taking you foot of the gas when you feel it is trying to shift. It might upshift then but the long term solution is to get it into a reliable transmission shop. They may find a solution now before serious damage occurs.

1983 f150 with 351 windsor. Recent problem of bogging down when climbing moderate hills. Also sounds of ticking noise, lifters or manifolds leak? Any help much appreciated.

A leaking exhaust manifold could make a ticking noise. So could a lifter or valve. The exhaust noise would be louder under load.
If the carb is running too lean, or you have a vac leak, the lean fuel mixture could make the exhaust leak worse, and cause the loss of power.

2004 f150 transmission fault light

Sounds like the transmission got overheated. I would not worry if shutting it off and restarting got rid of the fault.

Enjoy your vacation.

Overdrive light on my 99 f150 never comes on...replaced switch already...could it be the harness?

If the over drive is located on the shift lever on the column it should be on with no light. The only way the light comes on is if you turn it off. Over drive button is located on the end of the shift lever. Drive it down the road and count how many times it shifts it should only shift 4 times. Start 1, 2, 3, 4OD with light off and 3 times with light on.
