I have a 1.8L 2003 Audi TT Roadster. About 2 months ago after not driving the car for a week, I the battery went dead, but I did not get any warning lights. Replacing the battery seemed to fix the problem. Yesterday, while driving I got the battery warning light and the tach and speedometer fluctuated from zero to normal indication like there was an electrical short. The battery is dead again. Where do I start to fix this problem.

Hi,

Thanks for using Fixya!

Sounds like you have an alternator problem. The alternator may have gone bad due to non use. Some parts inside may have rusted out and got damaged. Better bring your car to your local mechanic and have the alternator checked.

Have a wonderful day.

Dead battery boost

Try charging it with a trickle charger. It might come back.
The alternator circuit is tricky and requires some battery power to excite the electromagnets in the alternator to start producing power.
It may or may not have been triggered by the boosting battery.

2002 TT roadster battery goes dead. pulling fuse 42 stops the drain on the battery. what is the likely problem?

I dunno, just a couple of guesses...do you leave ur radio "on" when you turn off ur car?...if radio amplifier causing prob, this would b the easiest to put a on/off switch on it..in the end if everything fails, get an on/off for positive battery side...

How do i turn off the 'epc' warning light on a AUDI ?

You will need a scan tool, or just drive the car and if it was due to battery once the computer finishes running its diagnose checks it will turn light off, this may take a week and some driving around. you could also have the computer scanned to see what code is stored and see if its due to the battery.
