SOURCE: remove front axle from differential on 2003 dodge ram

That works fine on a relatively new vehicle but one that has run in salt etc you'll save a lot of time if you remove the steering knuckle completey by separating lower ball joint and outer tie rod end ball joint and bring the whole steering knuckle to a bench to separate the hub/bearing. Soak everything with penetrant, loosen the bolts a few turns and try hitting right on the bolt heads. I also made a very sharp wedge from a chisel and rammed it hard on the other side to seoarate the hub. It will finally come apart then you'll see all the **** that was binding it due to an alumininum knuckle re-acting with a steel hub. Clean the hole and grease everything and fit new bearings

SOURCE: replac 2003 monte carlo oil pan gasket

To remove the oil pan on any vehicle, first remove anything obviously in your way...starter, exhaust pipe etc. Then disconnect the engine mounts and raise engine to gain sufficient clearance between frame and pan. You cannot support the engine from under the pan so either use a fixture above the engine or put blocks between mounts and engine to support it. After all rail bolts have been removed, remember that the oil pump pickup will interfere with removal somewhat but pan can be maneuvered around it. Anything preventing you from getting the pan out will then need to be removed or moved as they are identified. Be careful when raising the engine that you do not break anything above it as it comes up.

there are only 4 ways (always your choice and rust sets the rules)

Removal of oil pan 2003 dodge stratus

To get the oil pan off of your 2003 Dodge Stratus 2.7L engine, you must remove the following:
> Engine oil dipstick and tube
> Engine oil filter
> Structural collar (metal plate that bolts on the bottom between the oil pan and transmission housing)
> Exhaust cross-under pipe
> Torque converter housing cover
> The lower bolt attaching the A/C compressor to the oil pan
> Oil pan fasteners, Oil pan and gasket
Please note that attempting to remove the exhaust cross-under pipe can be a real challenge if you do not have the equipment to heat the nuts/studs that fasten it to the manifolds.
Non-availability of the required equipment in this case may mean that you will have to remove the exhaust manifold(s) to drill out broken studs.

most of front end and engine cross over support--if hole is small enough clean and make a plug with pop rivet and cold weld epoxy(oil & gas proof) or if bigger use rubber oil plug replacement a plug about 1/2 inch wide used as replacement when oil drain plug damaged or cross threaded most auto stores sell them

How to remove the oil pan on a 2004 dodge ram 2500 diesel

What motor is in it? Mostly have to take all the oil pan bolts out, undo the motor mounts and raise the motor up enough for the oil pan to clear the cross member. make sure you don't have too much in the way when you raise the motor, as you may break something.

Where is the oil pan located on me 1997 lincoln continental?

The simple answer is, bolted to the bottom of the engine. Ford and Lincoln vehicle generally have the cross member right under the engine, so the oil pan is obscured by it. Many oil pans on rear wheel drive Ford products have 2 oil sumps or wells, 1 near the front just behind the belt pulleys, and the other just behind the cross member, this one also has the oil drain plug for oil changes. Not sure why you are looking for the oil pan, so I hope this helps.

Oil pan eplacement or repair?

You can try JB Weld after you get it off. I would not try any chances with an oil pan. If that oil pan pours out all of your oil going down the road you will ruin your engine. If it is cheaper to get it welded you can try that. I can't comment on removing that oil pan. You should be able to jack it up and look at it. If there is nothing in the way that you have to remove like a cross member, it should be a piece of cake. Best thing to do is to buy a manual for that can and decide for yourself it it will be easy for you to do. I am a Chevrolet person myself. I am not up on everything in every new car. I usually buy a book on every car that I get or work on. Sometimes something looks very simple and it turns out to be a big headache. I do not know what year your car is or how the motor sits in it. You could call a garage to be on the safe side. I can not make a call when I can not see it myself. I gave you the answer as to what I would do. Be careful not to strip out the bolts going back on. When you take it off you will be able to see the bottom side of your engine. If it is old you might want to think about doing anything that you can reach like changing the oil pump. Just some advice while you have everything at reach.

Do not take any chances on that oil pan. Good luck. Rate this as a Fixya if this solves your problem.
