Ill not bet or guess. we do a thing called TESTING.
which engine, ????
it ran for 3 seconds, so it had fuel for 3 seconds
so fuel pressure is not 0
get full tune up this decade.
at leas spark plugs and filters? hark
the ASD has a 2-3 second rule(PCM rules)
if you had scanned it, then youd already know
which of the 8 rules were violated
http://jeepdied.com/ASD.html
that be fact
in truth,it can be bad spark
or lost fuel pressure, lost not 0

the car can come new with SKIS
those security keys
did it?
if yes, the SKIS immo lamp MUST out.
or it will never start

its the not scanning it first that fails you!!!!
if say the communications network fails to let
the PCM and SKIS talk guess what happens
bingo.

borrow the tool
rent one
have the mobile guy come and scan it in your driveway
tow car to shop
getting the fuel pressure connected up right by you
will fail, I bet. my only bet.
takes special fittings.+

SO WHEN IT STALLS DO THE KEY ON 3 TIMES ,TRICK
THIS THE CRUDE DTC ERRORS, REPORT.
IF IT HAS DTC ERROR,NOW, FIX THAT FIRST
FOR SURE THOSE 8 ASD ERRORS !!!

the older jeeps
have SKIS lamp that is a kEY with red circle bar
means key failure

the DTC key jive test can bet tricky and does not do all codes, sorry;

this paragraph does all jeeps, for sure wrangler

the aBOVE PHOTOS IS RARE. SOLD MY 02 LAST YEAR. GOT 08.
SEEMS IT HS THE STEALTH LAMP LIKE ,MINE
    10 BULBS THERE ARE.
if you do the custer self test.all lamps tested 1 by one, so if one is dead, so is bulb. hiding the fact it should be on.
that ,see that is why we scan and see the key/skis errors. dig.
stuck on bad, flahing per below, book pages.

do you have the security key option? WE BLIND
with cluster SKIS, chapter 8Q IN THE FREE SERVICE MANY ,AT THE END HERE.

IF YES, IT HAS A LAMP, IN THE CLUSTER
    CALLED SKIS, IMMO LAMP
if the lamp flash constant-ally or sticks on
    it will never start(by design)

click, TJ , in full service manual below

    then click vehicle, thief chapter.
read page C-8Q PAGE 3 CAREFULLY

THE SAD PART, is you never scanned it first
jacking a scan tool in is fun
taking benzene fuel bath is what.?

all usa cars ,is my posts. so....????
any time a jeep does not start (modern)
    check fuses
    check the vta/skis/skim/vtss lamp.(warn)
in english its, IMMO lamp. and is unmarked
    on about last 6 years;.

check for spark first, not fuel
if engine floods check all spark to all cylinders .
Some spark failures the PCM see.s and cuts fuel
so DONT let that fool you.
    check for spark first.

you have it for only 3 seconds i bet.
    2 men, one cranks
other sees test spark plug die just as you hear engine die...
that sir Is MR ASD in action
    hard cold proof.

if the ASD dropped you, stay away from the fuel tank, and WIN big time.

Check the fuel pressure when it stalls out, I will bet the pressure is "0" PSI

Not exactly sure what the first guy said but it is most likely one of two things.

1. Wireless Control Module may become unresponsive which in turn will signal the ECM to shutdown the engine.

2. The wireless control module not recognizing the key transponder. If you open the fuse box, pull up on the white fuse holder, then reset it after about 10 seconds.
That will reset the system if that was the issue. You can also try to replace the battery in the key if it has one. The battery shouldn't affect it starting but it can't hurt anything.
Make sure the key your using has the chip for your vehicle. Might sound silly but I've been called on multiple occasions because of people using a spare key that the anti-theft doesn't recognize, in turn, killing the engine.

Good luck!!

    no engine stated, nor country
    so 4.0L USA.is my responses.....
    it's called SKIS (it's a security system)
if this fails, the skis lamps glows
    why make this hard????
a key FOB in hand and the LAMP.
and 1/2 these have no SKIS.
    it's an option, day 1. a fact.

learn then find and see the lamp?
on the newer car,the lamp is stealty
on mine its ONLY a red ball
this is to fool thieves this trick
but the operators guide showed you all that, why not read that first.
learn how SKIS works, and the full chapter 8 Q below.'
To find the SKIS lamp if fitted
key on, see all those lamps self test
one of them is SKIS, the keybar lamp
    or a red ball lamp.
now wait for the lamp seft tests to end
    per operators guide
that SKIS lamp must go out.
no nothing more needs to said now,
unless its stuck on ,or flashing
    geeze it in the book.

    ok SKIS IS OUT:(OFF)

what if engine stalled only from flooding
or lack of a simple tuneup,

if you had read chapter 25
see all those errors, that can cause stalls
you'd not need to ask what to do at all.
    Dtc'S
    P1685 ? 1686?
LACKING A SCAN TOOL,MEANY MOST FAILURES
    GO UNSEEN
X10 THAT, FUEL PRESSURE AT SPEC, KEY ON.

2003 chevy malibu, takes awhile to turn over and start, idle shoots up and down when started, also it stalls when i take turns

How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? With extended crank, you can try cycling the key, on and off, a few times before you crank it. If that helps, have to check fuel system. Use a gage and check proper fuel pressure.
Check and clean the idle air system, see if it helps?

Van runs good then stalls out. then hard to start. If i let it sit for 5 minutes it starts again no problem. Then stalls again shortly there after.

This sounds like a failing camshaft position sensor and weak crank shaft sensor .When crank shaft sensor gets weak it will stop functioning. When crank shaft sensor stops working then ECM will not control fuel system and the fuel will stop flowing. And this can cause the problem. When crank shaft sensor gets heated it will stop working, but when the car shuts off, the sensor gets cold and works for few minutes and sensor again gets hot and it stalls. ---------- Get the crank shaft sensor tested on your Chevrolet venture. ---------- There are many other possibilities for this stalling problem, but crank shaft problem is indicating in your case. For more details, click the link below:--- http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/10/stalling-problem-on-2000-chevrolet.html ------------ This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I need all the diffeent firing order for gm 3400 2000 I have a back firing issue that won't let the van start?

it sounds more like the crank sensor is bad. when crank sensor has failed or is failing, certain timing problems will arise. the engine may start but shut off in a few minutes or seconds of operation. more than likely engine will not start. it controls timing, engine backfire, no spark or pulse at injectors, car will stall when stopped. heres the firing order: 2-4-6 front from left to right
1-3-5 rear left to right hope this helps !! go here for a diagram-- http://autorepair.about.com/library/firing_orders/bl-fo-6417.htm have a very good day !!

2000 buick lesabre stall after starting or after running for 30 minutes

I have a 1996 Lesabre. I had a similar problem that slowly got worse. I brought it to two different mechanics that did diagnostic checks and could only "suggest" what to replace to fix the problem. Their problem was that it wouldnt stall out while they had the mv. After replacing a bunch of sensors and the fuel pump/ filter, I solved the problem by replacing the Crank Sensor. Its located behind the lower crank pulley on the 3.8 lt motor. Hope this helps!

2000 jeep cherokee starts then stalls in approx 3 sec 4.0 has new crank sensor

I am going to assume that it will not run even if you push on the accelerator pedal?
Can you install or attach an old timing light to the spark plug wires, turn it one and try to start it. The light should flash with the engine running, but if it shuts off at time of engine die, and the engine is still spinning, you are losing spark, My suggestion is the cranks shaft sensor on bell housing.
Second, install a pressure gage on the test port on the fuel rail and watch it as you start the engine, fuel pressure should not drop as the engine dies, if it does, the pump is not working correctly. There are two modes of power to that pump, one to start and timed, for only a few seconds to prime the system, and one to run continuously. Find the wires going to the pump at the tank. Connect test light to those wires and watch what happens during crank and at stall, You should not have the pump shut off and the engine dies.
If you have spark, and fuel pump working, when did you last change the filter,,but I put that LAST.
It has to be one or the other of these.
Good Luck
