How many frezze plugs are in a 2003 ford Taurus 3.0 liter v6?

Hi Vicki,
Firstly I've had to work out that you meant freeze plug" rather than frezze plug. Anyway, that's sorted. I think that the most likely source of information could be the Taurus car club of America. Ford Taurus Forum Ford Taurus Owners Car Club Forums
In addition, the image files that I've found seem to imply that there are 5 freeze plugs (this is on one side of the engine, I don't know whether it's symmetrical ie 10 plugs, or not = 5).

1have a2001 ford taurus water froze up in it a couple of nights ago i took the drain plug out flushed it with cold water then then reattaced the drain plug put water in it and water started coming out...

If you didn't have adequate anti-freeze in the car, it could be damaged as water expands when it freezes. In extreme cases, it can actually split the engine open. To prevent that, they put in "freeze plugs" that are designed to blow out before the engine is damaged. Hopefully that is all that has happened and your freeze plugs can be replaced. However it is possible that the radiator was damaged too.

2001 ford taurus freeze plug near starter

you can get a small screw driver and place it inside the old freeze plug close to the edge. hammer it in and pry the freeze plug off. hammer in the new freeze plug gently and evenly in to place til it is flush with the engine. please drain the radiator first so you will not get soaked when replacing the freeze plug.

How to remove freeze plug 2001 ford tuaras

You have many frost plugs. Some remove from block with an allen wrench, some use a bolt that holds it in, and some are compressed in. Depends on the type of frost plug. If pressed in, use a seal puller or screwdriver/punch with small hammer and pry out. Just don't knock plug into block.

My 2001 ford taurus is leaking coolant on the firewall side of the engine. is there a coolant hose on that side that could be leaking?

It could be a hose on top of the engine leaking back there. It could also be a freeze plug on the back of the engine. Its a round disk about 2-3" in diameter and is recessed about 3/8" into the block. Check those out and make sure all hoses are good and tight. Any hoses that are kind of puffed out above the clamp should be replaced

What is the approx cost to repaire the freeze plug

If you tap it in yourself, which sould be simple depending on the location, the plug will cost you a couple of dollars. You can also put in a rubber expandable plug that you can tighten with a wrench. Your local auto parts store will be able to help you decide which one would be best for you but the actual plug is very inexpensive.
