Have 1993 Chevrolet P30 with 454 engine.Lacks power on hills and for unknown reason right rear brake caliphers pick-up. Shut off engine, wait 5 min. and restart, brakes release and able to...

Hello..I'm not sure what you mean when you say
"right rear brake calipers pick-up."

If you have power brakes with a brake booster, vacuum decreases in the power booster as the throttle opens. If you have a hydra boost system, the power steering pump provides the power assist. All system components (master cylinder, power steering pump or booster, power brakes proportioning valve, lines and fittings, calipers and pads and emergency brake) all need to be in good condition with no leakage or out of spec adjustments... to perform properly.

As you are loosing power while under heavy load uphill I would first check to confirm none of the brake calipers are hanging up (lift each wheel and check for free travel..no drag with brakes and emergency brake off)

The exhaust systems ability to flow freely is also critical. A plugged up exhaust system will not allow the free flow of exhaust gasses and severely limit the available power output of the engine...like driving with the choke plate closed.

Have a 1997 f ford 350 7.3 power stroke diesel trying to replace the master cylinder and can't get air out of brakes system. And brake pedal won't rebound what should look at to fix the problem

Not sure what you mean about rebound? You have a hydra boost system in this. It runs off the power steering system. If the steering is tight/hard. The pump is bad, affects both. If just the brakes don't work, look to replacing the hydra boost.

2002 chevy silverado 2500 hd with duramax no brake or steering power. do I need to replace or repair hydro booster?

It definitely sounds like the hydro booster. There are videos on YouTube that shows you how to do either. Depending on your skill level will determine which one you do. The main issue is bleeding the air out of the booster. It can be difficult. You will also need to bleed your brakes completely afterward. GMs are notorious for having the hydro boosters die on them.

2001 Silverado 2500 HD Why Rear brakes don't work after I installed new hydro-boost power booster, master cylinder, calipers, and pads. I bled master cylinder before installing, and brakes beginn

Hello Patricia,

Have you checked the master brake cylinder reservoir for brake fluid loss?

I don't suspect the master cylinder as you have replaced it... but am more suspect of a leaking brake line or fitting which should have
been discovered when you had the system bled.

The only time I ever had a rear brake problem with a 2500 series Chevrolet was due to seized rear brake caliper guide pins...as your calipers are also new that is not your problem.

If your brake pedal feels spongy and travels to the floor board you have air in the system, a brake fluid leak or a failure in the power steering system, such as a broken hose, broken power steering pump drive belt, or failed pump, would result in a loss of pressure to both the hydro-boost and steering.

No pressure on brake pedal 95 suburban 2500 4x4 7.4L

try bleeding your ABS block first, if that doesn not work could need a master or proportioning vavle. Some scan tools are capable of bleeding the ABS system on some vehicles, and some you have to bleed manually.

How can a brake booster be tested?

Hello deepockets4: My name is Roger and I will help with your question. With the engine off depress the brake pedal 5 or 6 times. After doing this hold down the brake pedal and start the engine. The pedal should fall about 1 1/2 to 2 inches from where the pedal was. Should the pedal not drop you have a vacuum problem. If you have a hydra-boost brake system this check will not work. A Hydra-boost brake system does not have a brake booster. This system uses the power steering pump as the assist on the brake system. With the hydra-boost system the pedal will go all the way to the floor but you would have already put your nose to the windshield. For the hydra-boost system to fail you generally will have a power steering leak or pump failure. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Brakes

this is a hydra boost system and recieves boost from the power steering pump. If you flow rate is low on the pump chances are the pump is going bad.
