it could be a tune up issue such as plug wires plugs . but my guess is its a computer engine temp sensor if it reads 5 degrees out of range it cuold give you a hard start or a no start problems the best way to look at this problem is with a scan tool when it is cold to see if the temp matches outside ambeint air temp 1 or 2 degrees ok b ut not 4 to five there is a nother way to check it buy useing dvom at a temp to omhs chart.

If you have checked the fuses and they are ok. The next thing to check is the switch itself. The switch has separate connections for the dash and lights and they do wear out. You can look up the part and wiring diagrams at autozone dot com. Make a free account and put in the vehicle information and then look at the repair guides for the electrical system.
