2003 Durango abs light won't go off nothing is wrong no codes are thrown

Hi Wendy, I'm glad to help! Wendy, if there is nothing wrong with the ABS system. Then unhook the negative battery cable for 20 seconds then re-connect it and see if the light is out. Module & see what the codes & issues are

Forget the throwing parts at the unknown, because a code
has a name that sounds like a part failed

Codes have nothing to do with replacing parts

You can get a check engine light on your dash,have codes
& have no problems at all

You need a scan tool for abs this has a reset feature. Simple scan for codes this will tell what is wrong my guess is you accidentally pinch the wire to wheel speed sensor. You can reset system by following the instructions

The warning light is for the ABS system, not the regular hydraulic brake system.
Someone needs to scan the computer for trouble codes and turn the light off. Then drive the car and see if the light comes back on.

This abs light may be on due to a bad wheel seed sensor, this is the most common reason, some dodges use the rear sensor inside the top of the rear diff, or one at each rear wheel but the front is one at each wheel, whenever the abs light is turned on by the computer it stores a code of what went wrong, for example the code may read b1022 right front wheel sensor, this would tell you there a problem with that sensor, this is pretty simple the only thing is getting the codes, a scan tool needs to be hooded to truck in order to get the codes,the most common one that goes bad is the rear one in the differentail,once the problem is fixxed theres no need for scan tool, just drive down the road and light will reset, check the front sensor wiring and if they look good and you dont want to scan it then start with the rear, but i would have it scanned and get the correct one from the start. hope this helps.

It is on because there is a problem with the Anti-Lock Brake System. Your normal non-abs brakes will work fine and you cannot tell anything is wrong until you need the ABS to work and it may or may not. There can be many things causing this. It may be as simple as dirt has collected on one of the sensors. Removing the sensor and cleaning may solve the problem. You can then remove the battery cable and reset the light. That may or may not work, You may need to reset the light with a scan tool. Inspect the wiring harness to each sensor and make sure it is securely connected. Turn the wheel to full lock left and right and make sure the wire is not being pulled tight thus stressing the connection. Another problem can be a broken tooth on the reduction ring that will set a code. You really need to have this scanned with a brake scan tool to get an idea of which wheel has the problem if you find nothing from a visual inspection.

The "dealer" should have scanned the vehicle for trouble codes. If the ABS light is on, the ABS module has detected a problem in the system.
If no trouble codes are present, they need to investigate why the light is on. It could be anything from a defective cluster to a failed wire.
I would take your vehicle to your local Auto Zone or Advance Auto and ask them to scan your car for trouble codes, they will do it for you free of charge, write the numbers down and respond back to me and we will see what is wrong.

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON DUE TO A CODE THAT WAS THROWN, JUST RESETTING THE LIGHT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING CAUSE THE CODE STILL REMAINS THERE, YOU WOULD NEED AN OBD2 READER TO SEE WHAT THE CODE IS THAT IS COMING UP AND TO RESET IT. IF YOU DONT FIX WHAT IS THROWING THE CODE THE LIGHT WILL NEVER GO OUT.
