The odometer is flashing on my 2012 Fiat 500. How do I get it to stop, and why is it blinking?

Hi, having had a similar fault, flashing odometer and after spending £84 on Proxy alignment the Fiat garage sate B&M ECU had failed and quoted £450 to replace. However the Proxy test fixed the flashing odometer and the wife said she wasnt bothered about Blu&Me. Two weeks later the car wouldn't start, flat battery. After charging the odometer started flashing - back to square one ( remember Blu&Me doesn't work either). So popped this to a local chain garage that I cheekly use to service my Merc. They advised that most electric functions route cause of failure is the battery condition. New battery, £135, no flashing Odometer and Blu&Me operational - remember the Fiat dealership wanted to replace ECU @£450 after £84 on proxy alignment. Not saying all Fiat dealerships would do this, but this one either clearly wanted the money, or equally worse didn't understand the problem on their own cars.
So in short, flashing Odometer and or Blu&Me failure, get your battery tested, not on its charging ability but on its output. New battery is a lot less than new ECU.

    Good luck

Flashing Odometer and or Blu&Me failure, get your battery tested, not on its charging ability but on its output. hope your fiat 500 is all right now!

Try PROXI alignment through diagnostic if not fix then the blue&me ecu has failed and needs replacement

try a quick fix through battery + on / off plug

SOURCE: How do you reset the 2012 Fiat 500 oil sensor

With all doors closed, put key in ignition and turn key to first position only, and fully depress and release the accelerator pedal 5-7 times. Pedal must be pressed all the way down and fully released these 5-7 times. I hope this helps!

SOURCE: Bought 2012 Fiat 500 Pop that has front end damage. Key stuck.

To remove the key, you take off the steering wheel covers. Underneath, there is a red tab to push in. Push in the red tab and remove key. Fuel cut off is your next problem. You use your directionals to reset the airbag module to turn on fuel. The procedure is listed in the owners manual under " in case of accident"

SOURCE: when is the first tuneup on the 2012 fiat 500

From my User Guide p. 63: 8,000 miles or 6 months - oil and filter change, rotate tires. At 16,000/1 yr more extensive inspections and filter changes.

SOURCE: why am i getting low memory signal on my 2012 fiat 500?

Rolly: According to Fiat500USAforum.com: "What is causing your problem is the Ecodrive program. You can disable this using the Voice Response system I think the command is Ecodrive disable...but you might want to check the owners manual. I used the system with a thumbdrive, but lost interest and turned it off using the VR button on the steering wheel and voice commands. "
