You have a hole or air leak in the big rubber cruise control bladder. Duct tape or electrical tape should fix it.

This could be a cracked vacuum hose to your cruise control servo, or just possibly loose enough to make the light come on.
SOURCE: MY cruise control on my 03 trailblazer ls works intermittingly
short , loose connection or relay --most likely ---those little green light flicker or come on when generally there is an intermittent short, loose connection or a relay or fuse going to fail soon
and nothing works without a good ground ---one could check if the correct voltage is reaching the cruise contol system and go from there
Just my 2 cents --wiggle the connections --gently ---the cruise control is a complicated sysytem somewhat --you may need another symptom to appear to narrow this down more
but then again --I hate Tow trucks it's a GM --SELL IT Buy a foreign car don't go to ford either
a friend of mine once told me --a 30+yrGM master mechanic that thanks to GM's faulty wiring harnesses and stuff HE will NOT ever want for work and Ford isn't any better --
Get the Toyota if you can that is --unless you are a GM Fan
then sorry my bad no insult intended --

SOURCE: 2004 acura Tl cruise control wont engage
This is a problem you will to take to a shop, If you are mechanically inclined I can help you, but if not I would not mess with it, it could be the button or it could be the controller and could even just be a fuse, check the fuse and if you don't find the fuse blown then let me know if you have a volt meter and what to test this yourself. You are going to be working around the air bag too and if you probe the wrong wire while testing you could break your arm or leg by deploying the air bag by accident. Or your neck.
SOURCE: Where is the cruise control fuse in a 2004 chevy
Gotta tell you, this question had me a little confused. Below are 2 wiring diagrams for you. One is for the cruise control circuit and the other is for the air conditioning circuit. The reason I gave you those is because it seems according to the wiring diagram in the cruise control that the fuse for the cruise control goes to the HVAC (air conditioning). According to the wiring diagram for the A/C yes that fuse also controls the ignition power for the A/C controller. In any case the fuse that would cover the cruise control is the number 30 fuse in the fuse panel located under the hood of the vehicle. Below is a picture of the location of the fuse panel and also fuse layout diagrams for the 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder engine vehicles as they have different layouts depending on the engine size. I hope this helps you and good luck.

What is the fault code? If you don't know you need to have it tested with a scanner that reads all JAG codes, that means the dealer.
