The only thing these components have in common is the ground wires. There are many grounds on a vehicle. But the main three are the battery to body, battery to engine and engine to body. These are fairly large wires/cables. They should be checked with an ohm meter. I replace or repair any wires that have more than 5.0 ohms of resistance.
with the engine running use a volt meter to check battery voltage with the head lights on, should be around 14 volts on a 12 volt system, if 12 volts or less the regulator or alternator is at fault . if around 14 volts there is a drain or short, the battery could also be faulty.
The P1600 code is usually a IMA fault, and the P1449 code is a battery deviation fault.
Both are usually early warning of some sort of hybrid battery issues.
You need to have a system tech give the hybrid system a good look over, but most likely your IMA battery pack is most likely suspect
well, you bought a car that takes a NASA engineer to keep going
so take it to the man.?
if really feeling safe working any HV car. (high voltage)
I am but are you? DIY?
then buy the FSM and read, it , then ask questions.
join the honda hybrid forum. ask there..... vast hits on same.
zero here.
join the honda hybrid forum, its a very complex car. and $$$$$ to service. and dont play with it , it has dangerous battery voltages.
google that "honda hybrid forum" youd be amazed.
Hello, the first thing to check is the auxiliary 12 volt battery in the trunk, if this battery is blow about 11,8 volts the hybrid system will not activate, try to jump start with another car or charge the battery, it may be necessary to replace this battery.
The relay is in the box under the hood. See circuit diagram below. One way to check if the relay is stuck on is to pull the fuse (fuse 12) and run a 12vdc test light across the fuse socket terminals. If it lights up, the relay is closed. The relay pulls straight out of the box. If it is a 4 prong relay, it can go in either way that it fits.
