SOURCE: cooling fan relay 1998 neon

on the left(driver's) side of the lower rad support. It's a small flat relay with a plug on the bottom and usually has a blue colored front. held on by two screws. Also, there may be more rad fan relays in the underhood fuse/relay box.
Good luck.

SOURCE: my 1997 dodge neon sohc auto check engine light is

First, the easy way is to just bypass the relays all together. Install a switch on the inside of the car like you would fog lights. This will solve the problem of replacing thing after thing and wasting money. Just a $7.00 fix. After doing that unplug all the sensors and then the battery for at least 60 second to reset the computer. Than restart the car and the check engine light should go out, may take a day or so. Same thing with your gas cap, re-securing it will take a day or so for the light to go out. Good luck. I love my '97 neon.

SOURCE: caravan overheating- what should I check out next?

does the fan come on when the ac is on? if so the fan is most likely ok, the problem on this car is most likely the cylinder head gasket is leaking.

SOURCE: 04 stratus blower not working

You might have an interconnection problem. I hate these problems, they can be really tough. I had something similar that turned out to be a bad ground connection, but you said that "Relay in box under hood is good and has 12.5 volts going to 1 post"... well OK, good, but then you said "switched the Relays around and everything else worked fine"... well OK, but if it didn't work fine before, you may have a bad relay or maybe a bad connection, so swap them back and see what happens to help isolate the problem. You also said "Ran hot to fan and it works", well in that case, it's not a ground connection at the fan, but still could be further back. It could be bad relay. Good luck to you on that one... as I said... I really hate these kinds of problems. Try to get hold of a wiring diagram if you haven't already. This problem is going to take some patience, but you’ll find it.

SOURCE: 2001 Dodge 2500 pickup heater fan only works on

I would check the blower motor resistor. I believe it's mounted into the heater box.

2003 Ford Windstarthe cooling fan is not working

Start by checking fuses#107 and #20 in b.j.b (battery junction box, fuse panel in engine compartment) if ok it's time to get it checked out with a diagnostics scanner for codes.the p.c.m controls the fan operations by grounding out the high and low speed fan relays.it gets various inputs from engine sensors(e.c.t/c.h.t a/c signal and so on) check if fans operate when you have the a/c on, if the fans work with a/c that rules out that circuit.locate the coolant temperature sensor and while engine is running disconnect it snd see if fans work, if so the e c.t is the problem. ..

98 Olds van, how does the high/low cooling fan work?

I'm showing three fan relays in the wiring diagram.
The fans are powered by two 30amp maxi fuses. The relays and fan motors are grounded thru the engine computer. The computer takes input from the coolant sensor and the ac control to decide when fans are needed. You would need to know if the computer is grounding the relays, and if not, why not. You may need a scanner to monitor computer output.

My 2004 pontiac grand am cooling fan doesn't work what do i need to do

The cooling fan can be run through a self diagnostic by a dealer using a special tool called a scanner, it will then deliver back to the tech what is found, this can be any number of things, the fan motor wiring to it or the controller for the fan. Guessing is not an option and if you keep overheating this engine you will shortly need a new one.

Overheating: cooling fan won't ingauge

I would first check the fan relays make sure they are good ..If no problem there then i would disconnect the wires going to the cooling fan..turn on your a/c ..that should activate the fan even if the vehicles cold ..see if you have voltage across the wires plug the meter right into the wire you should have 12 volts..if you do then its the fan..if the fan comes on during a/c but dont come when vehicle gets hot, then its probably the temperature senser that tells the fan to come on..Its located near the thermostat.

2005 Buick Rendezvous blower motor stopped working. Should have checked the voltage prior to getting a new one but what ever. Got a new one and a ne resistor mod. It still does not work. My meter says I...

Would definitely check your grounds at the blower itself and the blower module.

jsmes1027_39.gif Here is the wiring diagram for the HVAC. If possible check the body control module for any codes that may have set using a scanner.

Radiator fan not working and car keeps running hot.

Replace the Temperature control sensor. Located at the engine near the thermostat housing. you can trace the wiring back from the fan to the sensor. If the fan still does not start. Try spining it by hand with the switch off. If you hear any noise at all.it may be the fan clutch. While you're at it check that wires to the fan aren't boken or pinched .

Fan works on high only

Check your blower motor fan speed control switch. They go bad frequently. You could have checked the resistor by jumping the wires to the different terminals to be sure the resistor was good. That pretty much just leaves you will the fan speed control switch. Good luck.
