When you say the fan doesn't work but it is good do you mean that the blade spins? If so when you feed voltage to the motor do you also ground the system with a ground wire? If you put 12v+ and ground the system if the motor is good it will spin. If it is not spinning tap the motor body with a hammer. If it spins then replace the motor. If it spins after grounding the motor then look for a bad relay or relay connection.
If it spins over fast like there is no resistance at all then you have a bigger issue. Could be dropped valve, timing, warped head, etc. The amount of compressioninside the cylinder will not allow it to spin over freely and fast.
uses a gm style pump, and is normal for the turbine section to break free from shaft. the motor will spin, but will not pump water.
or the head is cracked and not allowing pressure build up in turbine housing.
either case warrants replacing the pump assembly.
A solenoid only makes a clicking or clunking sound. They do not spin.
You must be hearing the starter spinning but the starter gear has not engaged with the flywheel. That's the solenoid's job. It must be stuck on not working. Have the solenoid and the starter gear movement .
Hope this helps.
my 2000 camry also shakes when idling. Looks like the radiator fan is culprit, but havent had time to change out yet. looks like old blades on fan broke off making it unbalanced when spinning to cool off causing excessive shaking. When driving its cool enough where that particular fan motor does not need to spin, therefore no shaking. possible solution is replace the fan that is wobbling.
Corvettes have a gear box on that motor. It has plastic gears in it. You probably have a gear stripped in that gear box, that lets the motor spin free. You can get repair parts to repair it, or replace the whole motor and gear box. Its an easy fix if your handy. Read all the instructions before you start.
You can go to autozone.com and register for full free online repair manual. This site has many great diagrams with step by step directions. You should be able to see the old motor mounts on each side of the motor. Replace the new ones in same place. You will have to lift up the motor to gain access.
