Turn key to start and all lights go on and all I hear is one chug. Turn key off wait 1+ minute and try again with 80% success and sometimes have to try more but still wait quite a while before trying will get 0 success. I did read somewhere to pump the gas a few times after failed start with key off and try again and I have done that 2 times now with 100% success on the restart. I don't have $1000 to replace the TIPM that others talk about so I guess I will keep doing this for as long as I can. It's been happening for over 1 year now and it's random as far as frequency. Sometimes a few times a month other times half a dozen or more times a month. Never not been able to get it to start but my heart always skips a beat and stomach drops especially when I have my twin toddlers with me alone. Never had to have it jumped either. SOURCE: looking for a diagram on removing and replacing

The Neutral Safety Switch function is controlled by the Transaxle Range Sensor (TRS). This Switch is Located ON the Transmission with Plug Facing UP and it is on the Bumper / Driver Side of the Transmission You Simply UNPLUG Electrical Connecter, And then the Unit Screws Out of Transmission Counterclock Wise, Install REVERSE Procedure.
NOTE: Be sure to have a DRAIN PAN Under your Work Area as there May be SOME Fluid Drainage When Switch is Removed, Swap them Fast if Fluid Comes out Fast so as NOT to have to Replace A Bunch of Trans. Fluid.

SOURCE: door locks

Daughter had same problem on '05 T&C. Neighborhood mechanic searched Internet and found 80-90 others with same problem right around 40,000 miles. Free solution was to pull yellow 20A IOD fuse in right front corner of fuse box under hood, wait 10 seconds, then reinsert fuse. Should solve problem as long as you don't lock doors with FOB. You can unlock doors with FOB, but apparently locking with FOB causes the problem.

Permanent solution is to have dealer reprogram computer for around $50 which is what my daughter chose to do because of inconvenience of not being able to lock doors with FOB when getting baby/carseat out of vehicle.

SOURCE: MAP or MAF Sensor Diagram for 2005 Town&Country Touring Van 3.8l.

Yes it has a sensor and they are color coded however I don't think it's called a maf or map sensor that’s a GM name, there would be three wires on it on ground one 5 volts reference and one for connection to the computer to tell the computer how much air flow there is, and the reading would be from 1.5 volts to 4 volts.

You need a good auto electrician for puzzles like that. A pro grade $5,000 scan tool computer will tell which modules are having issues.

Key stuck in ignition of 2009 chrysler town and country

Try to start it in neutral. If it starts then it sounds like a neutral safety switch. If the battery is dead it may not let the key out unless you jump the van.

How to replace neutral safety switch

On the 1998 Town and Country, the neutral safety switch is inside the transmission . If you are not of the faint of heart, remove the bottom transmission pan and the lower valve body (do not loose any springs or little shiny steel balls), take the old one out and put the new one in and make sure to put the valve body in. The part costs around $50.00. A reputable shop will do it for less than $300.00.
