Wow, no symptoms posted, just a hunt....

head lights dead, high .low and flash?
blinkers dead, or acting FUNNY?
omg both?
did you test fuses first?

the book is free, posted now over 300 times
just read the real book, not a clone, or autostore rag
every question asked is in the FSM book
the real factory service manual.
why not read that first. then ask a more hard question?
98 xJ
chapter 8w covers all electrics
and then the other chapters even cover how the lighting controls work.

step 1 is defeat air bags, if not its a great danger to all mechanics. and for sure DIY fiddlers.
step 2, pull neg battery lug,.

3 questions.asked where is it , how to get it out.
the vague blink, HL questions.

page 8w-50
is your car in Canada with DRL lighting, or worse Europe?
on our LHD, USA car
the HL switch sends fused power to the LHs.
4 fuses.
the HL common wire is ground at G106 up front.
power to the switch is from F7 main PDC fuse.
The actual switch (combo) also has and emerg. circuit breaker inside, for when owners use wrong fuses, no fire happens.
there is no relay if no DRL or no option for head lamp delay feature. (no symptoms, be impossible to answer) nor county.

now blinks. 8w-52
turn sigs, are the emergancy flasher working????????
that be a huge clue that.
truns.
there are 3 major parts
the 2 fuses.pdc 20 and JB12 (pdc is engine bay and JB cab)
this powers the Combo flasher module.
that that powers the combo switch assembly
that in turn blinks all lamps. or haz
now you know why haz lamps are question 1.
last is the how to remove the combo switch.
8e-17 (chapter 8e page 17)
covers removal of switch and i quote.
REMOVAL
(1) Disconnect and isolate the battery negative
cable.
(2) Remove the knee blocker from the instrument
panel. Refer to Knee Blocker in the Removal and
Installation section of this group for the procedures.
(3) Pull the headlamp switch control knob out to
the On position stop.
(4) Reach up under the instrument panel through
the outboard side of the steering column opening to
access and depress the headlamp switch control knob
and shaft release button on the inboard side of the
switch body.
(5) While holding the release button depressed,
pull the headlamp switch control knob and shaft out
of the headlamp switch.
(6) Remove the spanner nut that secures the headlamp
switch to the instrument panel (Fig. 11).
(7) Pull the headlamp switch into the steering column
opening area of the instrument panel far
enough to access the instrument panel wire harness
connectors.
(8) Disconnect the two instrument panel wire harness
connectors from the headlamp switch.
(9) Remove the headlamp switch from the instrument
panel.

the REAL free book, is here
XJ 1996-2001
read it?

http://www.morris4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service

why not start a post , stating symptoms, first
and your guess. last.

what fails.
what works.
are head lamp dead. high low and flash or only dim.
are blinkers and emerg. flasher dead?
or dim
or flash fast or too slow.
or just on side fails.?
all this makes finding the true cause, 100x more easy
and no need to buy parts not needed or remove parts
and damage it or other parts near by or you.

now you have the FSM book words, JEEP words.
no need to buy any books, or spend cash on them.
    just 9 steps
    or get car fixed
    2 choices,
reading the book (real) tells you 2 things
    do you have the skills
    do you have the tools
(and the AIR BAG DEAL, feel lucky today)

the book there is real FSM.
the adds have Chilton pages pay for the web site,, try no not read ads. and win.
gee anon, the free REAL book links are posted here
    over 300 times..
    gee....
sounds like you have axe to grind,

all a Chilton is , is a rag! Trash.
They takes 10 years of real JEEP FSM pages
and mixes all years to one thin book.
then leaves out 99.9% of the good stuff.

Chiltons books are for kids, those that never learned to read a real factory service manual.
omg, it's all there, and only for MY jeep and nothing missing , or wrong.
    OMG, it's REAL.

and now the real real thing, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR IN BOOKS....!!!
    https://www.techauthority.com/en-us/

this is what I use. it's not free
but is the best. bar none.
    and worth every dime.

SOURCE: How to replace headlights on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

One long bolt at the top - requires a 7mm socket to remove the bolt. The light housing will pry out with a screw driver. There are three ball and socket type connectors that hold the housing in and I just pryed off the plastic housing carefully and "balls" pop out of the sockets. Finally, I was replacing the faded plastic housing and it came with a new wiring harness. It's impossible to reach the connector to use the new wiring harness that comes with the new plastic light housing. So just use the existing wiring harness with the new light assembly.

SOURCE: 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited - flasher relay location

More than likely you have a bad ground. Under the rear of the vehicle, behind the rear bumper there will be a few wires running to a bolt in the frame (left side i think) Check that no wires are loose or boken. Also if you have a trailer wiring harness, check to see if it has not been damaged. Let me know if this helps :)

SOURCE: Where is the horn relay located on a 95 jeep grand cherokee?

On my 95 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, the horn relay is in a compartment under the glove box. Open the glove box and remove the three screws in the front on the bottom. Take the plastic cover out and you'll see a bank of relays. The horn relay is the one on the far left, closest to you.

I have a 1998 Jeep cherokee sport. Was driving today and it died. Now there is no spark and no power to fuel pump. Changed fuel pump today and it won't run. Recently replaced oxygen sensors too

U need to check the crankshaft position sensor. The fuel pump will only have power for 2 seconds I till it sees a crank signal. It' controls the asd relay which turns on your spark and fuel

1999 Jeep cherokee Sport...turn signals don't always work

Sounds like a broken directional switch inside the column. You have an airbag system. I strongly recommend you either get yourself a chiltons or haynes manual and follow dis assembly instructions EXACTLY or have a shop do the work for you. If airbag deploys while you are working on it it can and wll ruin your day in a big hurry. (trip to hospital)

1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport Ignition Lights Come on but wont crank

Try putting the car in neutral and starting. If its a manual trans it might be the clutch pedal safety switch or it may be something as simple as a loose battery connection.

1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport Fuse Needed?

Sometimes there are relays under the hood. There is usually a diagram posted underneath the door when you tak it off. The turn signal is usually just a fuse, which may be in your glove box(has a diagram under the door), under the driver or passenger side dash. Do you still have the manual for the vehicle?
