Well it could be fuel or spark.
So you would need to figure out which system is causing the problem to know what to test.
Could also be a relay getting hot and failing.
When it won't start check for spark first then fuel pressure.

Why does my 2004 pontiac bonneville start up then shut off after 2-3 minutes?

Remove the O2 sensor on the back side of the engine exhaust manifold. Start it, if it runs for more than the 2 or 3 minutes, replace the catalytic converter. 455 is a purge solenoid code. This wouldn't keep the car from running.

Why does my 2004 pontiac boneville start up then shut off again within a few seconds?

most people who do not do the first step generally go crazy chasing the problem
the first step is to have the fault codes read as they are there as a diagnostic tool to stop people from going crazy

Would a plugged fuel line return line cause my 2004 pontiac bonneville to start then run for alittle then stall?

Fuel Pressure regulator ..maybe

Turn the Key to the 'ON' position, the fuel pump should run for about 1 second. listen for it. Do this a few times without trying to start the car. This should pressurize the system. now try starting the car. There may be air in the system from changing the filter.

2004 pontiac bonneville ran for about 5 minutes then shut off. i scanned the computer and it showed a p0230 code.fuel pump primary circuit misfunction.now it wont start at all.battery alittle weak.

check that the pins in the relay socket and the PCM connector are good and make contact youshouldsee12v at pcm... PCM is last resort. Check the fuel relay first for melting or burnt smell.

My 1995 Pontiac Bonneville will turn over and start but always dies. Already replaced fuel filter and the fuel pump seems to be working but the car will not stay started. Checked the gas release on fuel...

crank position sensor...if the engine will start and run for a second or two then it dies. If, however, you can press and hold the gas pedal slightly and keep the engine going, then I would suspect the IAC-idle air control valve. This can be cleaned with spray carb cleaner.

Difficult to start car.

hmm

1.) turn ignition on,, let it sit for 30 seconds
2.) switch ignition off
3.) start..

if it starts then your fuel pump is pushing enogh pressure ,, u will need to get it changed,,

if it doesnt check your oxygen sensor,, and engine coolant temperature,, both of these control the oxygen fuel mixture and chances are one if malfunctioning..
