Just bought this used car and the CD load is very sensitive and will only let me load 1 out of every 6 I try. Is this normal?

Try a dust cleaner but do not shake the can. Just insert the shaft into the removed cd slot and shoot some air in there, then try a cd cleaner disc to clean the disc lens. If the disc player is just shooting them out also try removing and unplugging the radio assembly and shaking the radio, slot facing down maybe something is lodged in the cd input area...kids love that slot...

CD ISSUES

Not sure here but try this ,insert a empty cartridge and then turn radio on ,then press reject cartridge and see if one cd magically appears in the cartridge .This normally shows as error 1 and its caused by the battery being disconnected with the cartridge in the player

Cd player wont accept cd.s says load error

pull the player out but leave it connected. when you push the eject button, lightly tap on the top of the cd player, if there is one jammed, you may want to consider just getting a new cd player, it may do the same to your cd!

hi ,i do know that they are certainly seperate faults ,the cd player is buggered ,i'm a car stereo expert and if a cd player does this its not normally worth repairing ,replacement should be a much cheaper option. your other issue sounds very much like a classic starter solenoid problem ,they are very irregular when they play up ,it will gradually get worse ,you should be able to contact a lincoln speacialist junkyard and tell them your vehicles details such as ,engine and chassis numbers and they should be able to find a replacement starter motor with a warranty on it ,have it fitted and you will be fine from there. I have a 2001 ford escape. The cd player won't play cds it won't eject or load them. All it says is cd error

You have a mechanism failure on the changer which is preventing the mode of the function to return to the normal state. Hence the processor is giving out the error signal. First of all open the changer and ceck for mechanism damage. if not slowl try to rotate the load motor to return to the normal state and eject. now check the connections to the motor, the flexible line wiring may be defective. use a loop wire or test the continuity from the motor. if there is a rest switch use it for resetting, if not disconnect poweer nd power again. Some cd'smay be warped or damaged and causing to block the sensitive transport. remove of these cd's and testt again. if there is no motr drive at all then the IC of the motor drive has failed. clean and set back. hope this helps you. Good day

CD player won't play MP3 CD's?

I have had similar problems in the past - on one computer discs burned using nero were unreliable but using Windows Media Player they were fine and on other computers the Windows programme was useless and produced unreliable inconsistent results.

I suggest you experiment with different burning software and maybe suspect the drive you are using might be past it's best.
I have several cd players in my vehicles and around my home. Only a couple of them will play all the discs and most of them are very choosy and will only read premium price shop bought discs and it is a waste of time trying to play a discount store or freebie disc, or many of my computer burned discs.

I don't know what the differences are - maybe it is the software or the power of the laser burning the disc or the sensitivity of the reading laser, but there are many differences in there somewhere. The situation is very frustrating...
