Edit Step 15 ¶ When it's time to change the oilin your Civic, the maintenance light (orange wrench) will appear on your dash, as well as a B1 message, showing an oil life of 15% or less. To reset the Oil Life % gauge, press and hold the SEL/RESET button for about 10 seconds until the Oil Life message begins to flash.
Some vehicles have a reading that starts at 100% and Counts down to ZERO. If your gauge is telling you that you are at 50% life, then you have 1,500 to 2,500 miles left before your engine oil change. This is ONLY as good as the last time you changed your Oil and someone RESET IT...
If it was not reset, follow the Tag on your Windshield
If you mean resetting the oil life then get in the car, turn the key to run(do NOT start engine) Press accelerator all the way to the floor let off. Do this 3 times within 5 seconds. That should reset oil life to zero
Tech did not reset. if you have steering wheel controls scroll thru till you get to oil percent and hold down the reset button this is the arrow looking button. hold til it says oil life reset
Here is what you do. Press the mode button untill you get to oil life %. Once you are at the oil life % now you hold the mode button for 5 seconds or untill RESET FOR NEW OIL LIFE is displayed. Now press the reset button now oil life should say 100%.
you see the reset button on you gauge cluster cycle through until you find oil life percentage hold that down(key on or engine on doesnt matter) keep holding until it flashes. then twist the button until oil life flashes. push and let go. only oil life will show now again hold the button down untill it reads 100%. this info may be in your owners manual also.
From page 232 in the 2007 Honda Pilot Owners Manual.
