Why doesn't it start?

Only Ford products have a Fuel Safety
Reset Switch & they only open in an
accident
Have it towed to a shop & diagnosed
Given the age & the fact you ran it out
of fuel,I would say the fuel pump needs
to be replaced

If you live in a cold climate, you may have a frozen fuel line.

Sounds like you possibly got bad gas, or your at the bottom level of your gas tank and got the nasty stuff. Try running a good fuel treatment through the system and fill it up with premium gasoline from Marathon

put enough gas like five gallons and start turning over till it starts not good pump when you run out of gas when fuel tank is low fuel pump works harder so if it starts great if it doesn't you might need a fuel pump e3mail back if that happens good luck

You should be able to hear the pump run only when the key is first turned on for a second or 2. I would say the fuel pump is out. this happens when you run the gas out it can prematurely wear out the pump impeller. If you can hear the pump fire up check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail. the pressure for most GMs should be at least 33lbs to 50lbs if it is below this pinch off the return fuel line and recheck pressure. if under you have a bad fuel pump.

I would recommend a tune up new spark plugs wires and some new gas and a new fuel filter.If that helps how it runs change the oil and filter and check all the fluids.

If you ran out of gas, then you will need to perform the following. Turn the key to the on position (do not start). Turn key off. Repeat the process a few more times. Also, have someone help you, for when you turn the key to on, you should be able to hear the fuel pump hum. After a few times, try starting the vehicle. Air has gotten trapped in the fuel injectors. By turning the key a few times, it primes the injectors. If it still will not start, or you cannot hear the fuel pump, then have it checked out. Hope that works. Let me know.

Put the gas in the tank, let everything settle, turn key off, then back on to on position, but NOT start. Let the fuel relay engage the pump and draw some gas pressure. Give it a good minute and it'll start right up.

Hi, you should start by checking all your fuses,if they are all good ,check fuel pump relay, if this is ok , check fuel filter, if filteris good ,you should run a fuel presure text, this will determine if your fuel pump is ok, good luck.......
