SOURCE: Oil pressure light on at idle

Don't delay on this. Take the vehicle in and have the oil pressure sensor checked. It could be just the sensor or it could be something more serious. A drop in oil pressure could lead to catastrophic engine failure.

SOURCE: car keep shutting down

SOUNDS LIKE THE IDLE AIR VALVE IS CARBONED UP TRY SPRAYING CARBURETOR CLEANER INTO AIR INTAKE AT THE THRUTTLE BODY WHILE HOLDING IDLE SPEED AROUND 1500 TO 1900 RPMS USUALLY AFTER SPRAYING FOR SEVERAL MINUTES ABOUT HALF A CAN THE PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ...IF THIS DOES NO GOOD YOU MAY HAVE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE IDLE SPEED REPROGRAMED IN THE ECM WITH THE DEALERS DIAGNOSTIC SCAN TOOL....USUALLY FOR AROUND 50 TO 60 BUCKS HOPE THIS HELPS

SOURCE: irratic idle at startup

No check engine light? You have a couple of sensors that may be causing that, coolant temperature, incoming air temperature sensor to name 2 of them. Personally I'd have it put on a scan tool & remove the guess work. Some parts places will do it for free, well as long as you buy the parts there.

Car runs great when cold, terrible when warm or hot?

First things first. "Heat Soak" generally happens when the vehicle is driven very hard before it is shut down, and even then usually only shows up on the ensuing start. This is not to say it is impossible that is your problem, it is just to say I believe it is something in the ignition system. The ignition system is the most likely to become affected after the vehicle has warmed up.

Are there any codes in the computer and does the engine light flicker or stay on steady when this occurs?

Engine light comes on heat blowed cold air and car runs hot and wont crank now

Number 1: get the code; even if they light turns off an on, the code will be stored in the computer.

It sounds like you could have a variety of issues and more information needs to be given. How is the car running? Does it run & idle perfectly or does it stumble?

When the weather is warm, we rely on our car's cooling system to keep temperatures in the engine compartment under control, and keep us on the road. Your cooling system is a series of components that circulate coolant through the engine to absorb heat, then circulate air around the coolant to get it out. If any part of the system stops working, you're on the side of the road while your engine takes a steam bath. The best medicine is preventive. You should flush your radiator on schedule to keep the system clean and well flowing. Unfortunately we aren't always lucky, and things go wrong. Let us help you figure out why your car or truck is running hot or overheating.
Problem with 2000 BMW 528i idling problem when you start the car in the winter time. The care starts by idling aroun 1000rpm, which is normal for a cold engine start, but within 30 seconds it drops down to about 750rpm. Now the problem is that it fluctuates between 750rpm and 250rpm, almost shutting down, and sometimes does shutdown.
Solutions:
1. I would first try to clean out the Idle control valve...some people have seen a 30% increase on cold start idle, there are several links in the DIY section.

2. If the sounds like classic Vanos seal issues. I had the same problem with mine in the cold weather. It would go away after the car warmed up. Replaced the Vanos seals and the problem disappeared.
3. Make sure you get the correct replacement seals or you'll end up with the same problem down the road.

I have a 94 Buick 3.8L car, it idles to fast. When you do a cold start and put it in gear, it will not idle down to normal. It will idle about 2000-2500 rpm. You can shut off the engine and restart it and...

It sounds like your idle control valve is sticking. The video shows you where they are located on a 97 Buick but it is the same engine.
This video shows you how to replace them.

Parking and dash light flickering

First. I would look for a loose connector plug going to one of the fuseboxes, there could be corrosion in the connector even, Under the hood or under the steering wheel. 2nd. I would try to locate the ECM, could also be a bad connector there as well.

sounds real easy either a bad idle air control solenoid or more likley a blown throttle body gasket. to test fro a blown gasket, with engine running and cool spray carb cleaner or brake cleaner around base of tb were it bolts to intake. when it hits the bad area, should idle down and be normal for a second or 2. iac is possible, try this first since its so common and let me know
