Brake lights not working on 1985 fiero

You would check for power in and out of the switch. No power to the switch would be checked at the fuse. If you have power in and out of the brake switch you would follow it to the turn signal switch if that bulb handles both circuits.

I've got A 1985 Chevy Suburban that the brake lights have stopped wrorking ive replaced the bulbs tail lights work no brake lights could it be the brake button and where is it at

brake light switch is on the brake pedal arm, a few inches higher than the pedal to keep you from kicking it off. should be a common item fitting an 80s GM, available at a parts store.

No brake lights 1985 f-150

The problem more than likely exists with the brake light switch. It is located under the steering column on the brake pedal shaft. There should be a kotter pin or clip that holds it in place. Remove pin or clip and carefully slide the brake rod off the brake pedal shaft. Disconnect wiring and remove completely. To install, just simply reverse the order of removal. On some model Fords, the brake light switch slides over a rod on the brake pedal shaft. If this is the case, you will need to pull forward on the brake pedal shaft (slightly) to remove the switch. Keep me informed if possible. Any other help, feel free to contact me.

If you have no dash lites< I would suggest checking either of the following as thse are the most common problems 1) chec your fuses 2) test the headlite switch, as for the brake lites I would again check the fuses and then move on to the brake lite switch and see if there is power going into the switch and coming out of the switch with the brake pedal depressed, if not it's the switch if there is power trace the wire back to the brake lites checking all connections in between for power. Finally test the lite pig tail ( socket ). Good luck and rember to rate all the solutions that you get on FixYa, thanx
