After starting cannot shift out of park
Your transmission shifter is controlled by the "shift interlock system". You blew the fuse that controls it. I'm guessing that your radio also does not work?
The fuse you need to replace is for the cigarette lighter - it's in the driver side kickpanel. It controls the lighter, the radio, and your shift interlock system.
The "Stop" fuse could also create the same problem, because your car must register the brakes as being depressed before it will let you shift out of park. Check both those fuses first. One of them is likely your issue.
Good luck.
Not trying to be funny. Is your foot on the brake?
You probably have a bent park pin, or need the shift linkage adjusted
SOURCE: shift lever not shifting out
If your shift lever is on the stirring colum, there is a button in the colum itself directly underneath the lever that usually retracts whrn you press the breaks, but in this case it isn;t. Simply remove the right portion of the stirring colum and press the button and put in gear while holding it that is a quick solution on putting it in gear but it is not a permenent fix.
