Check for corrosion on the negative cable (the black one) where it goes down off the battery and toward the engine ground, should be a really thick wire. Check for any green powdery (corroded copper) stuff or blistered insulation on the black cable.
you could try to use a jumper cable connected just the black cable to the ground (black) terminal on the battery to a good clean metal part of the engine, on the other side of the jumper cable. if the vehicle starts after doing this, you need to replace or repair that cable. could also be a starter problem, it all depends on your symptom. a video with sound would really help

SOURCE: Buzz in the dash, alternator not working, all light on in dash

Further test showed that the interior (dome) and exterior light flickered only while driving. The problem was that the battery rack is broken. The battery negative terminal connect to the motor (OK) but also to the frame of the car through the battery rack. Since that rack is broken, the grounding of the car was intermittent. Whenever I shifted, it made the motor move in relation to the frame of the car, so that's why is caused all the light to turn on in the dash.

SOURCE: 2001 pontiac sunfire wont start just keeps turning

on a similar problem i had occured it is the theft lock that GM uses. You have to put the key in the ignition turn to ACC wait ten minutes and turn it off. You MUST do this three times and then the theft lock will turn off. Once that is out of the way it SHOULD start.

The car has no power at all with key on position no interior lights or dash lights.. has new battery

Check all your fuses. Make sure that your battery terminals are cleaned and you have a good connection. If your battery is new, then you are not getting a good connection.

2000 Pontiac Sunfire wont start

Its likely that you have either a bad ignition switch or a bad neutral safety switch (if stickshift, clutch switch) Try starting in neutral...if it starts, change neutral switch (jump across clutch switch, check starting in neutral with your foot on the brake) Ignition switch is on top of steering column under dash.

2003 pontiac sunfire gauges don t work. everything was fine, unhooked the battery to clean the connectors and now the gauges won't work.

the fuse pannel on the left side of the dash pull cover off and look at the diagram on the panel cover look for cluster its a 10 amp fuse. make sure your car is turned off pull out that fuse and replace it with a new one the old fuse will look like there is nothing wrong with it but it is faulty. then turn your car on and it should work just as it did before you pulled out your battery hope this solved your issue
