You need to know the fuel pressure. Just turning the key to on should cause the fuel pump to put high pressure in the fuel line to the engine and fuel injectors. If the pump doesn't turn on, there is an Inertia fuel shutoff switch in the power line going to the pump, so check that has not tripped.

If hard starting or running poorly problems, you could have a fuel pump that still works but fails to keep adequate pressure- a weak pump that needs replacing. If your Mazda has a fuel pressure test port, called a shrader valve, it is easy to hook up a fuel pressure test gauge to check fuel pressure. Autozone and maybe other national stores rent or loan fuel pressure testers.

Where do find the vapor lock on my 1999 Buick century

Vapor lock occurs when the gas in a fuel line turns from liquid to vapor, before it reaches the engine. The first signs of vapor lock are normally when your engine begins to run roughly. The engine may sputter and hesitate. It will then stall completely and refuse to restart. It may seem like the car is out of gas or the fuel pump has failed. While these are possibilities, vapor lock may be the problem.

Car wont stay running after it starts, runs around 500rpms then dies out, sometimes wont start. replaced fuel filter, and the main relay fuse. this problem started after replacing my gas tank.

fuel injected cars cannot vapor lock, so not the issue, when they replaced the fuel tank did they replace fuel pump? It should have been, but 2 things come to mind, they pinched wires when putting tank in and it shorts sporadically shutting off pump, look around with light and trace wires looking for any breaks in plastic coating, or fuel pump is failing.

Fuel gague doesn't work. 1991 Mazda Navaho

When the guage does not work the problem is the sending unit for the guage in the fuel tank, very common problem.
