-Check water. If it's low add more.
-If water is full then the thermostat is not open when temperature reach above its setting.
-Test the thermostat . If it's not working then replace new one.
-If it's working (Start to open when temperature reach about 185 and up) Then now you need to check the cooling fan sensor. If the thermostat is open but the cooling fan sensor not work and kick the fan than it'll be over heat too.

Good luck

Yes, a coil is a possible cause, and so is a relay or other electrical component.
You need to figure out if you have lost fuel pressure or spark when it stops running to know what to look for.

How do you change a 1984 ford f150 break light

There will be a few screws accessible from the outside of the plastic housing. Unscrew them, and you can access the bulb and socket.

Carborator will not hold a prime

Sounds like the needle valve and seat are leaking in both. The needle valve shuts off the fuel and holds it in the float reservoir. If the valve does not seat properly it allows the fuel to drain out overnight. You may need to overhaul the carburetors. You also may have a pin hole in the float. You can check that when you open it up.
