The problem is within the airflow box, either a stuck or broken flap. It will need to be accessed via dash removal, (not as scary as you think).

SOURCE: 2000 pontiac montana air conditioner driver side

That is correct, the air blend door actuator. "flapper valve" may need to be replaced or cleaned and free from binding up. Good luck and hope this helps. If there is an Auto Zone in your area, they can order the part you need and give you the step by step instructions to removing the old actuator and replacing it if it's damaged. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.

SOURCE: heater only blows hot air

This is my best guess with out knowing the year of the vehicle.
If you have a climate control system, ( driver's side, and passenger side heat & a/c setting ), you likely have an issue with the blend door being stuck, or a bad actuater, ( this moves the blend door )

If you do not have a climate control system, you likely have a trap/flapper door sticking, or some blockage in the duct work.

I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: air conditioning not blowing thru the vents

There is a black vacuum hose in back of the glove box toward the top connected to a gray hose about 1/8 thick. You need to check to see if there is vacumm there. If yes then you need to take the bolts off to be able to tip the dash back enough to see all the vacuum hoses.Make sure they are all connected. It was alot of bolts but its is the best way.I had a hose off going to one of the acuator doors.Glued it back on and works great

Why wont the heater blow out hot air in my 1995 pontiac bonneville. it will only blow cool air

If the heater hoses are getting hot, the problem may be a faulty blend door under the dash. The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and the vents.

Hot air blows thru the vents all the time

Just fixed this problem on my '06 Sentra. The AC lines were freezing cold so I figured the system was cooling with no problems but the cold air wasn't getting to the cabin for some reason. I put a snake camera in through the vent behind and to the left of the glove box(you have to remove all of the panels) and saw that the cable that gets pulled/released when you turn the hot/cold knob had broken off from the retaining clip. This caused the whole line to move when the knob turned meaning that the cable wasn't actually being pulled in when turning the knob to cold. I pulled the center dash and CD player out and the cable was right there so I secured it in place with a zip tie. Everything works like new now.

It blows out hot air even when the air in the front is cold

Hard to read your question, do you mean it blows cold air out of the front vents and hot air out of the rear passenger vents?

If the air coming out of the front is just cool and not cold, and the rear vents are warm, you have low freon and need to have it serviced.

Air blows out thru the vents but just no hot air, aslo i have to hit the dash for the air to come out thru the dash vents at times.

sounds like bad acuator motor, this is what moves the door in heater box to set hot or cold air, and other motors to set air to blow thru defrost, vent or floor. good luck.

Low refrigerant charge or a sticking blender door. Check the suction line for temperature. A cold tube means that the charge is fine.

2004 Pontiac Montana blows cold air in defrost

There is a mix damper inside your duct that controls the heat over heater core and ac evaporator that to your floor and one to your defrost. it is probable an electric actuator, that is not functioning properly. If yu can locate it and manually move it, you might have to remove the actuator motor first, you should be able to figure out your problem, I hope this helps! merry Christmas!
