SOURCE: '05 Hyundai Sonata Coolant Change

remove the cap on the radiator or the header tank, use a plastic container that will hold about 4 ltrs of coolant, there should be a drain tap at the bottom of the radiator, if not you have to remove the hose clamp on the bottom hose and let the coolant drain out.
Replace the hose and clamp, top up the radiator and run the motor while checking the coolant level, if the level goes down a bit just top it back up and check over the next day.
hope this helps

They tell me I need a coolant temperature sensor

you might have 2 coolant sensors one for the gauge and one for pcm, and if you stop by a part store like autozone they will give you a print out of locations of one or both. did they tell you that you only had one ? ask the part store how many they are showing for your car when you go they will tell you. then find out which one they want you to replace
