It depends where it was leaking from but most likely it was a hose , was the electric engine fan working before this happened/was the car overheating or it just lost the antifreeze try to find the hose and replace it then refill with antifreeze and let the engine run while your sitting inside the car watch the temperature gauge and listen for the engine cooling fan to come on if it does then you probably had an old hose if it doesn't then the engine overheated and the hose blew out if this is the case the sender that turns on the engine fan went bad or the fan motor itself went/to check the fan motor run a wire from the positive battery cable to the fan and see if it works if not check the fuse if it's good and the motor doesn't work it's no good if it does work but doesn't turn on by it self the senders no good in any case changing all your hoses so they are all new will be better so this won't happen again

It is probably a hose and all you have to do is add some water and see where it comes out. Another possibility is the water pump seal.

I have a 2000 Ford Taurus SE 3.0 V-6 4dr. I was told it has 3 catylytic converters that are all stopped up. I found a burnt vacuum hose behind the motor and replaced it but not sure where it goes

this car is a nightmare mechanically,i had a 2000 taurus and it isnt worth a nickle, if you arent paying on it get it running and dump it, from the heater core to theheads cracking to the transmission it will haunt you with issues, fixed the same vacuum hose on mine never knew where it went, good luck

I'm guessing you have a minor anti-freeze leak. The condensation on the air conditioner piping is normal,as your AC works a lot, every time you select defosteror some other positions on your heater.
Check for a teeny leak coming from a hose on top of the engine. don-ohio

Heater in 2000 Ford Taurus Station Wagon doesn't heat. Fan motor runs. No anti-freeze smell.

you are either low on coolant or need a thermostat. Check to see if the 2 radiator hoses are oht hot. Then check to see if both heater hoses are hot.

My 2002 ford taurus leaks anti freeze and was told it was head gaskett or timing gaskett. The oil is fine and the leak is not all the time.

More than likely (and hopefully) it is the timing chain cover gasket. Common problem on Tauruses with the Vulcan V-6. Had the same problem. Replaced gasket and leak stopped. Not cheap if taken to a mechanic, but is doable if you have some experience and the equipment.
