These vessels have a kill switch with a cord that you have to wear on the arm in case you fall off. I would be looking for a problem with that kill switch

I suggest you test the theory by bypassing the relay and/or energising the starter motor manually using a jumper lead, a suitable screwdriver or similar or a remote starter switch.
would you describe the noise 1 metallic/scrapping, 2 slight roar ,3 squeal, 4 something else
1,loose drive belt pulleys, something may have dropped onto driven parts
2. loose or worn air intake hose , air filter box not secured
3. alternater etc drive belts , spray WD40 onto them when revving engine , if squeal goes check condition of belts
4. can you describe it
hope this gives you a starting point
YOU SHOULD HAVE A LITTLE BLACK OVAL RECESSED CENTER. THIS GOES OVER THE S LOOKING SYMBOL IN THE UPPER PART OF THE CROSS ARM PUT THE KEY IN THE SLOT AND TURN 1/4 TURN. YOU HAVE TO PUT PRESSURE ON THE KEY AS YOU TURN. NOW LIFT UP ON THE RELEASE AND PUSH DOWN ON THE PART BELOW THE RAIL AT THE SAME TIME. AFTER YOU MOVE THE CROSS PCS. TO ITS LOCATION LIFT UP ON THE BOTTOM AND PUSH DOWN ON THE TOP. DONT TRY IT WITH THE LITTLE KEY.
i would go to a dealer and get a gmc key the crazy car people put so called chips in keys, not really, it was just an insulated piece of metal to make contact between two wires in the ign switch, and then they used magnents in the keys with big black plastic ends, a joke really just harder for us and more money for them because that dealer key will cost you one of your arms
your key probably has chip in key also know n as transponder unless you bought key with this chip and have it activated will not start car its an antitheft key wich newer cars no have
Is it getting spark? remove one spark plug wire and put a spark plug in it, hold the body of the plug against an unpainted metal part of the engine or body with an insulated tool (like a plastic handled screwdriver) and get someone to wind the engine over. You should see spark at the plug. If not, check to see if the igniter module is switching the coil correctly (might want to search on the net for this procedure, too hard to explain here). Probly best to just replace the igniter module anyway with the age of the vehicle.
