My reverse lights are not working i have a polo playa 1.4 2005 model do they have a separate fuse box?

When replacing the fuel pump housing in the tank of your 1999 Volkswagen Polo Playa 1.6i, the position of the housing is important. The fuel pump housing should be installed with the electrical plug on the top side of the housing. This is important because the plug is used to connect the fuel pump to the vehicle's electrical system and is necessary for the fuel gauge to function properly.
If the fuel gauge is working in reverse, it is possible that the plug on top of the fuel housing is connected in reverse or there may be a problem with the fuel gauge itself. Double check that the plug is connected correctly and make sure there are no loose connections.
If the problem persists after checking the plug, you may need to have the fuel gauge tested or replaced by a qualified mechanic or technician.

my guess is car has BCM that is sick.
so we SCAN the PCM/BCM at the OBD2 DLC scan port and it tells me BCM errors.
you said fuses are good but there are vast fuses now on a car even 50 fuses, in engine bay and 1or 2 fuse boxes in the cab.
the glove box users guide answers where they are;.
if battery voltage drops below 10vdc, the BCM will go crazy.
when engine runs the Battery/charge./Gen lamp must not glow,
right? seen in the IP cluster,

check and test fluid and is level---check linkage for binding and or damage --

If the other brake lights work, probably broken wire. Eye level meaning Suv hatch? If so, the wires tend to break at the rubber boot from the hatch to the body. The reverse lights run threw the neutral safety switch on the transmission. Could be a broken wire, most times it is the switch.

No they should only come on when you put in reverse or else everyone would think you were backing up! its your bulb if just one, the fuse if both or the reverse switch indicator... Good Luck

Have you checked under the hood in the engine compartment? I do believe there is a fuse box there with fuse for the brake/reverse.
