SOURCE: toyota trouble code P2112

A trouble code of P2112 has to do with the electronic throttle control system (ETCS). Unlike vehicle in the past, your gas pedal does not have a cable that goes to the throttle body to open and close your throttle plate or the thing that makes your idle go up and down to make your vehicle go faster or slower. Your vehicle works with sensors and motors in order to go faster or slower. In other words in simple terms you have a sensor at the gas pedal which is supposed to send a signal to the vehicles computer (ECM). Then the ECM sends a signal to a motor as well as another sensor to tell the throtle to go faster or slower. It's a litle technical but that's a simple way of putting it. Toyota's will go into a "fail safe" mode when it detects a problem. The fail safe mode basically makes the computer set the idle at a certain point so the vehicle can at least be moved slowly and that's all it will do until the problem is corrected. You didn't mention your engine size so I'm not able to really give you anything to check but if you're not real mechanically inclinded you may want to take it to a reputable repair shop. There are MANY tests to do to narrow down the source of the problem but in most cases that I have seen it was some sort of a binding in the throttle body. I know this answer didn't really give you and answer as far as how to fix it but I hope I have been able to help you understand why you have this code and why the vehicle isn't moving hardly which I'm guessing is the case....

I have replaced throttle body and still have p2112 code, what else could be causing this problem?

The description for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2112 is, "Throttle Actuator Control System - Stuck Closed." This DTC sets when the fault status indicates that the throttle plate is at a lower angle than commanded. There are three areas where the fault could be; a mechanical problem with the throttle body (physically stuck closed or binding at a certain position), a wiring issue (circuits are either open or shorted between the throttle body and PCM) or a faulty Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Considering the throttle body has already been replaced, it is unlikely for the new part to have a mechanic issue although not impossible, especially if a salvage/used component was installed. In my experience PCMs are rarely the cause, therefore I would highly suspect a wiring issue. I'd recommend performing a visual inspection of the engine wiring harness for any damage caused by heat from the exhaust, rodents or poor repairs performed in the past. Be sure to inspect the connector to the throttle body as well as the connector pins to ensure they haven't been bent over, corroded or broken. I have 3 codes from my scaner p2111 p2112 p2238

P2111 - Throttle Actuator Control System Stuck Open.
P2112 - Throttle Actuator Control System Stuck Closed.
P2238 - O2 Sensor Positive Current Control Circuit Low Bank 1 Sensor 1

For the P2111 & P2112 you will need to replace the throttle body this can be pricey since the TAC is built into it. Try cleaning it good and see what happens. This can also trigger the P2238 code if its dumping fuel.
For the P2238 check the connections on the o2 sensor or replace the upstream o2 sensor that should correct it.
