If you have spark, check for fuel. If you turn the car to "on" without starting it, you should hear the fuel injector pump at least breifly.

I have a 01 chevy suburban that wont start. The engine turns but it's not getting gas. I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs and wires and disabled the theftlock. There is a fuel bleeder...

What I recommed is to remove the fuel pump relay and probe the relay socket with a volt/ohmmeter. One of the terminals in the relay should be grounded. One should be hot. Another should be hot when the jey is on--this is the turn on signal from the pcm. The last terminal goes to the pump and should show a few ohms to ground. Can you run these tests tha report back the results?

I have a 06 grand prix the bright lights work but the dim wont come on at all what could this be

Hi, the problem can be the relay or the body control module. The thing to do is pull the low beam relay out of the relay box under the hood and swap it wil the high beam relay. If the low beams start working instead of the low beams, buy another relay for the high beams. If there is no change, pull the relay out again and interrogate the relay socket with a 12 volt test light or voltmeter. Connect your test light clip to chassis ground and probe the relay socket. There should be 2 hot terminals in the socket. If not, there is a problem with the fuse box. If you get these 2 hot terminals, move your test light clip to battery positive and probe the other 2 terminals in the socket. With the headlight switch off, there should be one terminal that lights the test light dimly. If not, there is a problem with the wire from the relay to the headlights. If this is OK, next turn the headlights on (low beam setting) and probe the socket again. There should now be 2 terminals that light the test light. If not, there is a problem with the wiring from the body control module, the module itself, or the beam control switch. If you get to this point, you will need to check the signals AT the BCM to determine if the BCM is to blame of the switch. Please get back to me for these additional steps, if you get stuck here.

Both coolant fans stopped working Checked both fuses the 40a and 50a both good

Hi, here are some things to check:

If you have a 12 volt test light, connect the test light to battery positive and probe the black wire with a brown stripe at the fan connector. The light should light, or you need to repair the ground connection.

Start the car and let it heat up. Then, assuming your horn works, borrow the horn relay to check the fan relays. Mark it so you know which one is good. Put the horn relay in each of the 3 fan relay sockets, one at a time, leaving the other relays in place. If putting the horn realy in any of the fan relay sockets works to turn the fans on, leave it there and buy a new relay for the horn.

If this does not work, pull out the fan high relay, start the car again (engine still hot) and probe the relay socket with your test light. Terminal 85 should light the test light.

If still no-go, you will need a voltmeter for the next test. Leave the sensor connected and use the voltmeter to probe the back of the coolant temperature sensor. Check the voltage on the sensor wires with the engine running. The reading should be between 1-5 volts DC. If not, replace the sensor.

If none of this works, consider replacing the front control module (in the same box as the fuses and relays).

Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

89 ford probe wont start, engine cranks , battery charged, inverta switch seems ok have continuity between switch, check ingnition coil - ok , spark in # 1 spark plug , check all fuses - ok , fuel...

Check for fuel pressure on the fuel rail while turning the key to start,if there is fuel pressure(enough)then the injectors are not pulsing(allowing fuel into the intake). The pick up coil in the distributor, will be the problem, unless it is distribuless ignition, then the cam sensor would be at fault.

My 1993 Honda accord wont start, I replace the

I like to make sure the timing belt is not skipped or broken by watching the cam turn inside the valve cover. Then I lay a spare spark plug on valve cover connected to any plug wire to see if it sparks. Fuel can be confirmed by smelling the exhaust, or by using starting fluid . These cars are famous for a coil relay solder break problem. The relay is heat expansion damaged, its mounted high up in the dash drivers side corner it is about 3" square gray.

1995 Ford Probe sputtering, dying. Won't start now.

This to me sounds like it could be the fuel pump but first I would check the simpler solution and make sure your alternator is good because if your started turns over fine but the car wont start the next part to check would be for me the alternator.
