I have a 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan with the 3.3 motor. Front wheel drive. When I pull out from a stop, the front end shakes up and down bad like the tires are falling off. They are on fine! It stops to a certain point when vehicle is doing 40 and above but at slower speeds, it's bad. Any ideas? Struts need replaced and getting this done soon, but what else?

SOURCE: 2002 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN Steering Noise

I had a similar problem with a popping - clanking noise when I was turning the Steering Wheel and going at a slow speed.
See if you can have someone listen outside the car while you drive it to be sure.
I replaced the one drive axle and the problem was solved.

SOURCE: rattle/clunk front end of a 2001 grand caravan

Front stabilizer/sway bar bushings sound worn. I had same, on my 91'. Felt like someone was thumping the floor under my feet sometimes. I managed to get away with spinning the outer ones at control arms, but replaced ones in middle at frame.

SOURCE: Replace front struts 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan

your on the right track. it can't be done with out a spring compressor. but do you purchase a GOOD
SAFE compressor for a few uses ?. better to unbolt the three top 13 mm retainer nuts ,than unbolt the two 21 mm lower steering knuckle bolts along with the 15mm stabilizer nuts, and take the strut to a local garage and pay a couple of bucks and have someone pressthe spring on thier compressor for you . its safer. also index the lower 21 mm knuckle bolts for reassemble. its your wheel alingment camber angles.
good luck chris

SOURCE: 98 mazda millenia shaking front end at 40 mph?? any clues??

try the simple solution first put your front tires on back and back tires on front. check your air pressure then take it for a drive and see if any thing has changed. if so you probably have a badly worn tire. if no change have someone move the steering wheel back and forth wyle you are under the fornt of the car (dont forget to chalk the wheels) and see if any of your steering components are loose/moving. if nothing is loose and your tires are good try to bounce the front end. if you can really get the front of the car going up and down pretty easy you havce bad struts/shocks.

SOURCE: front end and steering wheel shakes

Most common problem would be tires are out a balance. Or, the tires are out of round ( meaning the tires have a hop to it; not completely round ).

When I'm on the freeway going 60-70 miles an hr, my car begins to shake. what does that mean?

Hello
You may need a front end alighment for your car.
Does your car drift left or right when you take your hands off the wheel for JUST A FEW SECONDS?
Check and see if your front tires are in good shape, they should NOT be smooth or bald, they should have tread on them to grip the road.
Your steering may need to be checked.

If the shaking stops when you slow down it is most likely a front end alightment.

Hello, I just purchased a used 97 Dodge Caravan Se and when I was driving it down the road it started to shake and make a grinding noise in the front end. Does anyone have an idea of what this could be?...

Sounds like your front passenger's side wheel bearing might be going bad. It could also be the cv axle is going bad. Have it looked at before it gets worse and possibly seizes up on you.

How do I change the rear 3 spark plugs on a '94 Grand Caravan?

Yes, these are tough to get at from the top. Put the front on jack stands or ramps, and you can reach them a little easier from the bottom. You just need to reach up where the exhaust pipe comes down, and you can even see what you're doing this way.

Front end shakes and viberates, like tires wobbily

You should have it checked by a tecnician. Most of them will check it for free providing you have it repaire by them. There are numerous problems that can be present. example. Upper or lower ball joints, wheel alignment, control arms center link. This should be done in a shop so you have a warranty. Don't forget this problem is a safty issue for the driver and passengers. I hope this helps.

Front end problems

You seem to have more than one problem, first of all the balding tire you have a negative camber problem that can be adjusted by getting a wheel alignment done. The shaking problem while applying brake could mean that you have bad/warped front rotors. It can also mean bad Tie rods. Lastly it can mean that the front tires needs to be high speed balanced. Good Luck
