Your starter should only have one red wire that goes from the solenoid to the starter.

I have coupe 1.6 the starter motor does not turn but battery is fine bump starts ok

do you hear a clicking sound at the starter.if so then the starter needs to be replaced.if not you need to check for voltage at the starter wires the small terminal as that is the wire that comes from the ignition switch,if you have power here then the starter solenoid is bad but you should change the starter anyways.

I am looking for wiring diagram for the starter motor for my rolls royce

hi, first thing we need to do is DISCONNECT the BATTERY (NEGATIVE (- sign)) HEAVY LEAD.

the SOLINOID has a HEAVY POSITIVE (+) LEAD this is a BOLT on connection and also (normamlly smaller cable (this cable feeds the car POSITIVE (+)) BOTH BOLT on THE SAME terminal ( ring terminals).

the STARTER MOTOR CONNECTS to the other BOLT ON CONNECTION (SINGLE ring terminal) of the SOLINOID.

the other small wire (s) is the (ignition key position starter motor circuit, the colour RED/WHITE or BLUE/WHITE. this is normally a PUSH-ON connector. if you have a BLACK or BROWN WIRE then this is EARTH (GROUND (-))

testing if this do'nt work. check if BOLT-ON CONNECTIONS are TIGHT by HAND.

the solinoid is a remote HEAVY CONTACT SWITCH and has 2 circuits SWITCHES HEAVY CURRENT up to 700 AMPS. and the CONTOL of the KEY to operate from a small wire. gerry

Wiring of solnoid for 1997 ford mustang

Big terminal next to motor gets the ground wire. Other big terminal gets the big red hotwire from battery. The little terminal gets the white/pk wire from the starter relay/ignition switch. Always remove the neg batt terminal before hooking up starter, as you can easily get melted wire in your eye down there. I assumed you have the stock setup, but if you have a modified setup with a remote solenoid, please get back to me.

2005 ford windstar Problem starting not enough voltage at the solenoid Starter motor has 12v Starter relay & fuses are good What am I missing?

check battery terminals for corrosion. clean with a wire brush. check starter terminals for corrosion and clean as nessarray. if the connections between the wire and terminal connectors are corroded you may need to replace that wire and terminals.

My 92 ford tempo wony start, charged battery, solenoid clicks, pulled starter with wires on, jumped posts and starter spins what now

Most Fords I have worked on use a solonoid. Measure the voltage on the starter motor side when you turn the key. Does it show 12v? The solonoid may be energizing but if the contacts are bad the starter won't get current. Jumping across the two large terminals will also bypass the contacts, see if this will crank the motor. Use a wire the same size as connected to the large terminals. The starter pulls hundreds of amps.

What wire gos on right side small terminal of starter solenoid 1974 dj5

facing the front of the starter, the terminal closest to the engine is the trigger wire for the solenoid. any other small wires would generally be attached to the other small terminal if yours has one. (trigger wire is the only small one that will have full 12v with key turned to start position)
