My 2004 Kia Sedona just had the main electrical trunk line repaired not replaced which stopped the car from stalling at intersections and having trouble keeping the car from stalling. The car still will stall now and again at an intersection and will **** while running....new problem? or part of the old problem? I am afraid to drive it any distance not confident that the car is reliable....it has FYI 92,000 miles on it....what do you guess the problem to be....

It sounds like the torque converter clutch. Just unplug it. It is the square 4 pin plug on the front of the transmission. Once it is unplugged and you get it unlocked, it will be fine. Just leave it unplugged, it won't hurt anything.

Your problem sounds like you have a bad crankshaft position sensor. You will not get a trouble code (check engine light). This will cause the vehicle to suddenly stall. You cannot change the idle on this vehicle, or any FI modern vehicle contrary to a previous post. It is controlled by the engine management computer by way of an idle air control circuit on the throttle body.

If the vehicle runs well otherwise then tell your mechanic to cleaner the throttle plate and the inside of the throttle body. He might want to remove the IAC motor and clean that area as well. Tell him to be careful with the IAC motor. This is a fairly common attempt at resolving these types of problems, you may want to find another mechanic if he did not suggest trying this.
