Left side of Engine Compartment on 3.3/3.8L there is also ABS and others so make sure you get the right one. I believe the powertrain control module is near front by the battery.

Mitsubishi airtrek june 2001 location of computer box if any

The Engine Control Module (ECM) on a 2001 Mitsubishi Airtrek is typically located in the engine compartment, near the battery. The exact location can vary depending on the specific model and engine type.
In general, the Engine Control Module (ECM) is usually located in one of the following places:
  • On the driver's side, near the firewall
  • On the passenger side, near the firewall
  • On top of the engine, near the intake manifold
It's recommended that you consult your vehicle's service manual for the exact location of the Engine Control Module (ECM) in your car

Motor light on solid. Codepo456.2006 dodge grand caravan sxt.

P0456 is an OBD-II generic code that the engine control module (ECM) has detected a very small leak in the evaporative system during the vehicle off testing. The test has to fail twice in a row to cause the code to be activated by the ECM.

Where is the engine ecm located on a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3L

Rebecca, first thank you for providing year engine size and the fact that it's a flex fuel van. Your ECM [engine control module or engine computer] is located right in front of the battery. This is an INCREDIBLY stupid place to put it [not to mention placing the fuse/relay box just outboard of the battery on this van] It is critical to keep the battery clean on this van, as any build up of dried battery acid will make it's way into the ECM and/or the fuse/relay box. The acid will do all sorts on nasty damage to these parts. They should shoot the idiot who designed the electrical system on these vans. FYI, I'm a professional mechanic with 40 years experience. What is limp mode

limp mode is a system built in the ecm or pcm that will allow your vehicle to drive at a slower speed when the ecm or pcm detects a problem so that you can stop at a safe location or drive to your mechanic, when the problem is fixed the ecm or pcm will allow the vehicle to drive normal again. hope this helps,

    OPERATION

When the term Electronic Control Module (ECM) is used in this guide it will refer to the engine control computer regardless that it may be a Vehicle Control Module (VCM), Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Engine Control Module (ECM).
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) is required to maintain the exhaust emissions at acceptable levels. The module is a small, solid state computer which receives signals from many sources and sensors; it uses these data to make judgments about operating conditions and then control output signals to the fuel and emission systems to match the current requirements.
Engines coupled to electronically controlled transmissions employ a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Vehicle Control Module (VCM) to oversee both engine and transmission operation. The integrated functions of engine and transmission control allow accurate gear selection and improved fuel economy.
In the event of an ECM failure, the system will default to a pre-programmed set of values. These are compromise values which allow the engine to operate, although at a reduced efficiency. This is variously known as the default, limp-in or back-up mode. Driveability is almost always affected when the ECM enters this mode.

Fig. Fig. 2: ECM mounting scheme-1996 models
The ECM is located in the passenger side footwell in the kick panel up to 1996. In 1996, the ECM is located in the engine compartment next to the battery.

    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2. Disengage the connectors from the ECM.
    3. Remove the spring retainer off and over the rail of the ECM on vehicles except 1996.
    4. Slide the ECM out of the bracket at an angle.
    5. Remove the ECM.

    To install:
    1. Install the ECM into the bracket.
    2. Install the spring retainer (except 1996) and plug in the electrical connectors.
    3. Connect the negative battery cable.

Is E85 safe to use in the 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport?

If your vehicle is equipped with a Flex-Fuel engine it is safe to use E85. If your vehicle is not equipped with a Flex Fuel engine, E85 will cause all kinds of driveability problems including a no-start. The vehicle should say "Flex-Fuel" on it or there will be a green "Leaf" emblem somewhere on the body.
For a 2002 Dodge Caravan, the best way to positively identify the engine is to look at the VIN. The only engine code that is Flex-Fuel is engine code "G". The engine code is the 8th digit of the VIN. The 10th digit is the year of manufacture and should be a "2" on your vehicle. If there is ANY OTHER engine code, DO NOT put E85 in the tank.
