Replace the starter solenoid. There is NO FUSE between the battery and the starter, only a SOLENOID.

SOURCE: 1988 F-350 Won't Start

I assume you mean while it is at WOT, it doesn't want to restart after a shutdown? If so, crack your gas cap 1/4 turn and see if that changes anything...could be vapor lock.

SOURCE: have a 1995 ford f150 replaced starter selinoid

Do you mean that all that happens when you try to start the engine is a click from the solenoid? If so, Place a test light on the starter terminal itself and have someone try the starter. If the light comes on, but the starter doesn't run, replace the starter (probably bad brushes). Make sure the engine to frame grounding strap is intact first. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: 94 MUSTANG GT,STARTER CLICKS BUT WONT CRANK, NEW

When you installed the starter you may have inadvertently put the gears in a bind. Make sure the bendix meshes properly with the flywheel. The bendix is the small gear on the starter that slides out and connects with the flywheel when the ignition key is turned.

2000 nissan xterra has brand new baterry turn ignition on no power to anything

If you have installed a brand new battery and there is still no power to anything when you turn the ignition on, there could be several possible causes:
  1. Check the battery connections: Make sure that the battery cables are properly connected and tightened to the battery terminals.
  2. Check the fuses: Check the fuses in the fuse box under the hood and in the interior fuse box to make sure none are blown.
  3. Check the ignition switch: The ignition switch may be faulty and not allowing power to flow to the electrical system. Try turning the key to different positions to see if anything changes.
  4. Check the starter: The starter may be faulty and not engaging. Try jumping the starter directly to see if it turns the engine over.
If none of these steps work, it may be best to take the vehicle to a mechanic for further diagnosis.

Had to replace fuse inline alternator how can I transfer the inline fuse to a different wire

the cable /fuse to alternator has nothing to do with the start and run function if the battery is charged up and in good condition ,sounds like the main battery cables have a bad contact/connection or battery is shot<follow battery cables and remove all points of connection in engine bay area clean contacts with sandpaper and resecure all connections 1 AT A TIME! to make sure none are swapped around by mistake ) on both earth cable/negative and the positive/power cables, make sure terminals on battery are clean and tight , try boosting/jump starting your battery with jumper cables connected from another cars battery positive to positive .........negative to negative and see if it starts ,i doubt the problem of starting up is the alternator unless battery is flat and not being charged by alternator ,by jump starting with another baterry will give you the answer once all baterry cables and connections are clean and secure

My 92 taurus wont start, you turn the key all the power works, but no clicks,no sound, nothing.. I have checked all fuses, all good... has a new battery that is charged... Is there a relay or selonoid...

Start with your connections to battery and starter, Also check your ground from your battery. Make sure it's not working lose. Then you can check see if getting power to starter, If you are getting power to your starter and it does'nt turn over Replace starter, The selonoid comes with it . You can get a aftermarket "rebuilt" for about $40Good luck to you hope this helps some.

How to put a starter in a 2002 malibu

1st remove POSITIVE cable from the battery. Then remove the wring from the starter. Remove the (2) bolts that are holding the starter to the engine and remove the dtarter. Replace with new starter and replace bolts. Tighten to about 60fpt or "very tight." after you have the bolts retightened, relace the wires to the starter. Be SURE to clean the contact points where the wires attach to the starter as they may be corroded. After you have the wires re-attached, replace the positive lead to the battery and test the system by attempting to start the engine. If this fails go back and make sure you have good contact with the wires. IF for some reason this is not working, check the positive lead to the starter with a testlight or ohmeter for power. Be sure that the lead TO THE BATTERY is hot on the strter end. You should be okay folowing these easy steps.

Jeep Cherokee starting issue

On an intermittent start problem like this you may be having a starter solenoid issue or your wire on the starter from the key switch may be loose. Or you may have a corroded battery cable or the safety neutral switch may be going bad. Is it a automatic? If it were it would be the clutch safety switch going out. So do the simple things first. Clean cables like the first guy said if that does not fix it locate the starter and if you have jumper cables the next time it does it put the positive lead of the jumper cable on the Positive battery terminal and the other touch to the starter wire with the key in the run position where the big wire on the starter is, if you here it spin it means the starter motor is ok if it don't it is bad or the connection on the starter is loose. Also a bad battery cable could cause this from the battery to the starter next put a small wire into the end of the positive jumper cable and touch the S terminal on the starter if you here a solid clung it means the solenoid is good. So check the connections on the starter and tighten the starter bolts as they may have worked loose and don't have a good ground. So if you want more as stance just post on my question and I will hell p more and if this is more informative please rate

My positive batery cable is very corroded while driveing the other day it shut off now it will turn over but wont start

You need to replace the terminals on the battery leads and clean the terminals on the battery, baking soda and water, along with a good scrubbing with a wire brush should do it. That could also work with the cable terminals. Check the power going to the starter and starter solenoid for corrosion also.
