My 2003 jaguar x tpe isnt charging,is there anything other than the alternator that can cuase it? how do i remove the alternator

test alternator and battery --if low voltage to the tcm will mess it up

More than likely you have a new bad alternator. Sorry to say, but many times I may go through 2 or 3 alternators before finding a good one. Have the new alternator tested.

have your battery checked. its prob the issue. your bad alternator can ruin a battery by under charging it.

Sounds like the alternator is charging, but the extra voltage is not reaching the battery. You should have battery voltage on the large wire at the alternator with the engine off.
If not, that wire is fried or a fuse is blown.

Not much information but from what you describe I would guess the alternator and or voltage regulator (which might be inside the alternator) is faulty. Before doing anything else however make sure the connections on the battery are clean and corrosion free and that the battery has a full charge.

This instruccions are for supercharged and non supercharged engines, if your engine is not supercharged disgreggard steps 4 and 8
.
To replace the alternator, remove or disconnect the following:

1 Negative battery cable 2. Air intake assembly 3. Cooling fan assembly 4. Supercharger drive belt, if equipped 5. Accessory drive belt 6. Alternator air intake ducting 7. If battery is good and has past a load test, then with car running put a volt meter on the battery terminals, 1 on positive and 1 on negative, they should show approx. 14.5 volts. dc if alternator bad it will just show battery voltage or 12 volts dc.

Ok, you will need to inspect the battery cables for loose fit at the battery. I would inspect for corrosion as well on the terminals. remove any corrosion is spotted. If all is well there, move on to the alternator. have it tested at your local auto zone for diode failure. replace the alternator or, have it re built if the device has failed.

Hi, it sounds like an undercharged condition.Locate your ac compressor and watch the end of the pump shaft(clutch).If the clutch isnt turning while it is blowing warm,check the pressure in the system.Low charge will cause the clutch to disengage.It does this because the pressure switch isnt meeting the requirments to close the circuit to the compressor clutch..Good Luck!!!Dont forget to rate my answer...Thank You
