What is the colour code for the reversing light wires Reversing light wires colour code
SOURCE: REVERSING PROBLEM
doest it idle lumpy, when driving forward, do the revs stay below normal when ideling, if so, the reverse gear may be damaged and have not sufficient power in revs to make this gear work, check with your mechanic, it wont cost anything for them to check it.

Send me your e-mail address, and I will send you a .pdf of the entire rear lighting wiring;
FixYa is not set up to post .pdfs yet.
Glad to help, and thanks for choosing FixYa.

On the side of your transmission will be a switch with several wires coming out of it. This is your reverse switch that turns on your reverse lights and most likely needs to be replaced
Reversing Lamps
The reversing lamp system consists of the following components:
When the transmission is placed in REVERSE (R), the BCM provides voltage to the reversing lamps. The reversing lamps are located within the rear lamp assemblies.
When the transmission is in REVERSE, the PCM (gasoline engine) or the Transmission Control Module (TCM) (diesel engine) sends a message over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) to the Body Control Module (BCM) indicating the transmission is in REVERSE. The BCM provides voltage to the reversing lamps when it receives the message that the transmission is in REVERSE and the ignition is in the RUN state. You could have a transmission range sensor problem , check to see if it is adjusted correctly ! Need to have a scan tool to make sure the BCM is receiving signal from the PCM . This is complex for someone who doesn't deal with or know about serial data communications ! All it is ,is electric inputs to a control module, then the control module configures it into data bits an bytes 1's an 0's then sends it out on the Data bus. The module that needs this info reads it an turns on the lights.This system can set codes in the bcm ,leading to a problem.
