Should be a test port with a cap on it on the fuel rail. Remove the cap and there should be a valve like a tire valve in it. Put on eye protection and depress the valve with a pocket screw driver. Then cycle the key and do it again until you have fuel and no air. Do not do this if the engine is hot or there is an ignition source close by. Have a fire extinguisher available.

How do you bleed a diesel pump jeep Cherokee turbo diesel 3.1 5 cylinder 2001

we dont have this engine here, USA.
but i have the WG jeep book,
starting page 12 , chapter 14

FUEL INJECTION PUMP BLEEDING
(1) If the fuel injection pump has been replaced,
air should be bled at the overflow valve before
attempting to start engine.
(a) Loosen the overflow valve (Fig. 18) at the
rear of the injection pump.
(b) Place a towel below the valve.
WARNING: WHEN CRANKING THE ENGINE TO
BLEED AIR FROM THE INJECTION PUMP, THE
ENGINE MAY START. PLACE THE TRANSMISSION
IN NEUTRAL OR PARK AND SET PARKING BRAKE
BEFORE ENGAGING THE STARTER MOTOR.
CAUTION: Do not engage the starter motor for
more than 30 seconds at a time. Allow 2 minutes
between cranking intervals.
(2) Crank the engine for 30 seconds at a time to
allow air trapped in the injection pump to vent out
the fuel injector drain tubes. Continue this procedure
until the engine starts. Observe the previous WARNING
and CAUTION.
(3) Tighten overflow valve.
HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL LINE BLEEDING
WARNING: THE INJECTION PUMP SUPPLIES HIGH-
-PRESSURE FUEL OF APPROXIMATELY 45,000 KPA
(6,526 PSI) TO EACH INDIVIDUAL INJECTOR
THROUGH THE HIGH-PRESSURE LINES. FUEL
UNDER THIS AMOUNT OF PRESSURE CAN PENETRATE
THE SKIN AND CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY.
WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES AND ADEQUATE PROTECTIVE
CLOTHING AND AVOID CONTACT WITH
FUEL SPRAY WHEN BLEEDING HIGH-PRESSURE
FUEL LINES.
WARNING: DO NOT BLEED AIR FROM THE FUEL
SYSTEM OF A HOT ENGINE. DO NOT ALLOW FUEL
TO SPRAY ONTO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WHEN
BLEEDING AIR FROM THE FUEL SYSTEM.
Bleed air from one injector at time.
(1) Loosen the high-pressure fuel line fitting at
the injector (Fig. 19).
(2) Crank the engine until all air has been bled
from the line. Do not operate the starter motor
for longer than 30 seconds. Wait 2 minutes
between cranking intervals.
(3) Start the engine and bleed one injector at a
time until the engine runs smoothly.

99 ranger 3.0 bout to pull my hair out truck runs good when warm did compression test everything good fuel pressure is 55psi running and bleeds down to 40 when off new fuel filter fpr looks new HELP!!

Josh, have you tried simply replacing all fuel in the system? Especially if you have been using ethanol-based fuels, your fuel may have a high water content, or may even be contaminated with something else.
Also, if your engine is a TBI engine, verify that your COLD INJECTOR is working (and not clogged).
Incidentally, a bleed-down to 40 is not horrible! If it fell below 30 or less overnight, I'd suspect a stuck injector or bad pressure regulator... but 40 isn't horrible.

Refresh my memory, What have you done to the car beside replacing fuel filter? Do you have a fully charged battery? Are you getting spark to all cylinders? Are you getting fuel? I can help you if you tell me what is wrong. Don't assume it's the fuel pump cause there is so much in between but we can see if your Fuel Pump is working. Open your gas tank and have someone turn the car on but without starting it. You should hear a hum for about 2 to 3 seconds.
This means your pump is working. Now you need to find out what is your fuel pressure? A good number is between 65Lbs. and 40 lbs.
Let me know how you make out I'll be on line all day today.

Hi 1989 celebrity 2.8 started to chug a little at first put new plugs ,wires, idle silinoid , new coil packs what next ?died in front of the house smells like lots of gas oh one plug looks like new maybe...

SOUND LIKE FAULTY FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR OR LEAKING FUEL INJECTORS.CHECK FOR LEAKING FUEL INJECTORS.HOOK FUEL PRESSURE TESTER TO TEST PORT WHICH IS THE SCRADER VALVE.WHEN YOU TURN IGNITION TO THE ON POSITION ENGINE OFF.FUEL PRESSURE ON FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE SHOULD HOLD STEADY 40 - 46 PSI. IF FUEL PRESSURE BLEEDS OFF SLOWLY YOU HAVE LEAKING CLOGGED DIRTY FUEL INJECTORS. COULD BE FAULTY CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. CODE SCAN CAR FIRST TO SEE WHAT FAULT CODE COMES UP BEFORE BUYING NEW PARTS.

My 04 dodge seem to have air in the fuel line how can I prime my fuel line?

There air should bleed off by itself, or its getting air from somewhere thus having a leak. If you pop the hood and look where the fuel injectors are, there should be a fuel rail a long pipe that connects to all of your injectors, on this rail there is a black cap that you can unscrew kinda looks like a tire valve on a tire.if u turn the key off to on engine off key on and the go and depress the valve on the rail fuel should spit out about 40-60 psi like a tablespoon. this tells you that your getting fuel to the motor. now do that same thing, but wait 5 -10mins before u depress the valve as long as something comes out you shouldnt have a leak. hope this helps

Just ran out of ruel with my diesel engine....are all engines equipped with an air bleed valve? My truck is 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel.

not all engine air equipped with thair bleed, inthat case you have to bleed each injector one at a time, you can do this by cracking open the line at the injector, but when you do this have someone ready to crank over the truck, when you see a soild stream come out close it and do the next one. do this to all of them the truck will fire right up.
