Do you know which cylinder is # 5? You will probably have to remove engine cover to see anything. If coil on plug ignition, one coil for each spark plug. on the spark plug coil in question, remove electrical connector from coil, remove hold down bolt from coil, you may have to twist coil to get boot loose from spark plug. What is liter size of engine?
This is for 4.7 L engine. It appears jeep rwd has odd and even banks like GM and Chrysler. 1357 for driver side bank. 2468 from front to back on passenger side bank.
this job is not for a newbie. so here we go with instructions. i believe you posted under 2003 nissan maxima section for replacing plugs. remove engine trim cover that covers manifold and valve cover. remove ign coils on frt valve cover and remove and install new plugs for rear bank plugs you would need to remove upper intake plenum. disconnect all necessary electrical connectors and vacuum lines. make sure you are aware where the vacuum hoses go for reinstallation. remove ign coils on rear bank valve cover. remove and install new plugs. reassemble all parts.
The spark plugs are located in the holes on the valve cover. If this is a v6 engine you will need to remove the plenum to remove the rear bank spark plugs.
1.1. Front cylinder bank spark plugs removal: 1.1.1. Disconnect the battery from car terminals. 1.1.2. Remove the engine plastic cover. 1.1.3. Disconnect the ignition coils electrical supply cable and all three coils connectors. 1.1.4. Remove all three ignition coils screws. 1.1.5. Remove all three ignition coils out from cylinder head. 1.1.6. Remove all three spark plugs out from cylinder head (straight forward).
1.2. Back cylinder head bank spark plugs removal: 1.2.1. Remove the inlet manifold out from cylinder head. 1.2.2. Disconnect all three ignition coils connectors. 1.2.3. Remove all three ignition coils screws. 1.2.4. Remove all three ignition coils out from cylinder head. 1.2.5. Remove all three spark plugs out from cylinder head (straight forward).
You need a spark plug socket with a built in swivel and a extension to remove the spark plug. All the spark plugs can be easily removed through the wheel well as to the #3 plug also, the trick is that you need to use the spark plug socket to loosen the plug and then remove it by hand and also install by hand. Once the plug is reinstalled by had, just use the spark plug socket with the swivel built in to it to torque it down and take care not to break the new plugs. Good luck and yes the #3 plug takes as long to repalce as it does the all the plug on the right bank. keep me posted if you have nay more questions and thank you for using fixya.
THE CHRYSLER SEBRING HAS 2.5 - 2.7 - 3.0 ENGINES THEY ALL HAVE 6 SPARK PLUGS. ON THE 2.5 AND 3.0L ENGINES TO GET TO SPARK PLUGS YOU HAVE TO REMOVE UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD FOR ACCESS THE SPARK PLUGS IN THE REAR CYLINDER BANK.THE 2.7L ENGINE WITH COIL OVER PLUG DISCONNECT THE COIL CONNECTOR AND REMOVE THE BOLTS THEN LIFT THE COIL OFF FOR ACCESS TO THE SPARK PLUG.
is it a DOHC V6 if so ur in luck their is probably a plastic cover on the engine remove that to gain access to the valve cover on the front bank. The spark plugs should be right in the center of the valve cover you'll need to get a 6" or so extension to reach down into the cylinder head to remove them the same steps for the spark plugs on the back bank (closest to the fire wall).
The 2003 Kia Sorento with V6 has the spark plugs located under
black plastic covers in the center channel of each cylinder head.
Several brackets, cables, and hoses must be moved out of the way to
access them. The manifold air intake tube needs to be removed on the
right bank.
The left cylinder bank has coil-on-plug assemblies while the
right bank has more conventional spark plug caps with sealing
assemblies. The
coil-packs are held with two 10mm bolts each and are difficult to get
to. Use universal-joint sockets and an extension.
