Why does my 2013 hyundai elantra sounds like it's revving high while driving?

Check the vacuum hoses, but sounds like the IAC or even the o2 sensors. The computer will pick up on the o2 sensors but not the IAC..Go to your local ADVANCE store and they will check on computer for free :)

Do a full Service air filter oil transmission oil brake fluid radiator the 9 yards this should help some if not then you should take it to a mechanic to have your transmission tested or you can use lucas transmission stop slip

weeeeiiirrdddd. i have a 2001 hyundia elentra gls, and my third cylinder is misfiring as well. my car also revs constantly on idle and in between shifting. it will flutter between 2-3000 or it will just stay at 5000. i replaced my plugs and wires to no fix with my cylinder. autozone also told me that it sounds like my throttle position sensor needs replaced, but every part they try to sell me will not fit and they swear up and down this is the right part...

While there are a number of things that can cause those symtoms, one of the most common causes is the MAF, ( mass airflow ), sensor.
This can cause erratic changes in the management of fuel/air mix ratio, as well as mis management of proper fuel to the fuel injectors.

Check the level in the ******. Make sure that oil is there and topped up if necessary. It should be on the upper marks. Good luck.
