1) Is it really running hot, or is the temperature sending unit or gauge incorrect? You could use an alternate temperature sensor to test - infrared temperature gauge.
2) Just because the radiator was cleaned out doesn't mean it isnt blocked. Check to see that water will flow through the radiator.

SOURCE: 1998 aurora

I have had this problem with my 98 aurora and have replaced all the same components. Temp gauge routinely shows 200 on highway (Fine) but in the city in stop and go will get to around 245. I installed a switch to manually turn on the cooling fans by connecting the ground to pin 86 in the relay for the fan(s). Otherwise the fans will not turn on to 245. This fix works but would like to know an actual solution.

I would say you have an air lock in the cooling system and it needs to be bled. Your water pump is cavitating, meaning an air bubble developes around the water pump impellars, an can't circulate the water.

SOURCE: engine overheating-----1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme 3.4 liter v/6

There seems to be an air pocket or no antifreeze in engine block. Try this method disconnect upper radiator hose and pour water directly into hose down into engine block until it full. when its filled reconnect hose and fill up radiator. as the vehicle warms up open bleeder valve on the thermostat housing and release air from system. open slowly and BE VERY CAREFUL WATER WILL BE HOT, bleed until you get a steady stream opening and cosing valve. However if all of this don't work. You may have a bad pump. Good Luck

SOURCE: 2000 Olds intrigue overheating

i have a 2000 olds intrigue thats been overheating alot lately the other day my drain plug for my radiator came on the way to work so i lost all my antifreeze on the way, i got to work and wound getting another plug to replace...the one that came out...topped off antifreeze...anyhow i go home and car overheats on the way home...i took it to a radiator shop today and they checked for, leaks, checked the water pump, pressure tested it...and they told me that the only thing they found was a airlock, but however the guy did recommend taking it to a mech and having it checked for a blown headgasket, so i go home today and i noticed my temp gauge going up and down on the way home it would get hot then cool down then get hot again...the car did eventually start to overheated so i pulled over and let the car cool down...i know this is getting frustrating, so do you have any recommendations or solutions as to whats cause the car to overheat.

remove thermostat, and see if it still overheats, check thermostat by boiling water, and drop thermostat in and see if it opens, if opens get new radiator!

check to see if both hoses coming off firewall are hot, sounds like there is a blockage in heatercore, or actuator not switching to hot. check hoses for heat first.

Where is the thermostat on a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier?

there probably isn't a radiator cap. some cars only have a cap on the resivior tank. if your coolant is low, it'll show in that tank. follow your upper radiator hose to engine. thermostat should be at the end of it, depending on what engine you have
