There are 4 bolts which retain the seat in place. The ones in the front, the seat bracket are bent in an L shape, so you reach them by takeing a 14mm socket, short extension and ratchet and to the outer side if the seat running from front to back, you will see the bolt on the left and one on the right,.Bring the seat all the way back to make ot easy to reach and then you can remove them. Now slide the seat all the way to the front. Most ofen there is a plastic cover over each bolt. Carefully pry one side off and the cover will come off. Below the covers are two more 14mm bolts When you remove them, position the seat as forward as you can to make access easy to the bolts. the seat is loose from the car. NOTE: I got a head of my self. The rear bolts should bee removed first then remove the front bolts are removed. Additionally, Position the seat in a semi reclined position so that it will be easy to take out of the car. If these are electric, there will be connectors under the seat which must be disconnected. In the middle of the connecter where they plug in, there should be a little lever looking part on the center of the outside connector which you must depress while pulling the connectors apart I hope I haven't been too confusing. I have Parknison's disease and although I am a Nissan Master tech, the disease can sometimes affect my thought train. I have read and reread what I have written to you and am satisfied that it shouldn't be confusing and you'll be able to get the seat out just fine.
Good luck

It appears that the cable for the driver side seat back is broken. how can I release it to remove the seat. This is on a 1991 300 SL

Only one way ,disconnect electrics after you have disconnected battery ,then unbolt seat and completely remove seat .Then take to a competent mechanic to strip the seat cover off to gain access to the cable unless you feel confident enough to undertake this work .

The driver side seat will not move. How can infix it?

In my case, there was a quarter stuck in the track. The seat had to be removed. If it is an electronic seat, I suggest checking the fuses.

Additional information would be helpful.

1987 NISSAN 300 ZX REPLACING HEATER CORE. DASHBOARD REMOVED. WHATS NEXT? DISCONNECT STEERING COLUMN TO REMOVE METAL CROSS BAR STILL NOT SURE HOW TO GET INTO HEATER BOX. ANY MECHANICS IN SAN DIEGO?

You got that far, and you seriously want to give up now? With the dash off, I think you could easily pull the whole heater case out, if you need to. On older Datsuns, there was a cover on the front of heater case that unclipped to expose the core for pulling straight back and out-don't know about your 300 ZX, though. Suggest you buy a repair manual for the procedure, or visit a library for a manual. Don't give up now!

Lexus GS 300 driver's side power seart is jammed. Ineed to remove it - can you help

Hi, there are two ways to this problem. First of all, check the fuse box for a blown fuse, the seats operate on fuse which if burnt will not make the seat work. The fuse may be located either under the dash on the drivers side or in the engine compartment on the drivers side. Secondly, if it isn't a fuse problem, you have to replace the power motor so it can work again, I can imagine it's gonna cost a lot for your lexus, Normally this happens because of constant use.

The driver's seat in my 1989 Mercedes 300 SE is changing positions on its' own. What can I do to stop it?

Assuming you have power seats, if you don't intend to change the seating position once you set it, you can simply reach under the seat from the back and unplug the motors, or remove the fuse associated with the power seats.

Electric seats will only go one way

You need to check for power at the motor when you try to activate the switch. If there's power then you have a drive cable issue. If this is a manual seat then the problem is the actuator assembly itself, the cable, mechanism, etc. Remove the seat & take a good look at it. You'll see a problem, write back.
