SOURCE: What can cause revving after

A vacuum leak either from a hose or the intake rubber tube running to the throttle body. Any air that enter's the engine other than the throttle body, will cause this condition. This is the best case scenario, worst case would be an intake gasket.

SOURCE: my car keeps revving whilst sitting idle how can i fix this?

could be airflow meter fault or throttle potentiometer should see check engine light flashing if either of these sensors are bad, they can effect idle and engine performance.

Revving of engin between 3000 and 4000 revs on ople astra is it the timing belt

please explain what is happening. Timing belts have nothing to do with engine rpms other than to keep the valves in correct time. If the engine just revs up to 3-4000rpms then there are other sensors that are faulty. run the fault codes to find out which ones may need fixing.

Rpms jump up down while driving

Question... are the ACTUAL RPM's rising and falling.. (the actual engine itself?).. if the engine is NOT actually revving up and down... doesn't really matter... BUT, if the engine IS revving up and down.. you need to have a professional to look at it..this could cause damage if it decides to rev real high or/and then stop!!
