SOURCE: vitara how to blank off egr valve

Just remove the valve from the engine, two bolts on most and use a piece of brass shim stock (available from auto parts stores like NAPA) and cut a block off gasket to go under the valve. Use the old gasket as a template but of course don't cut the hole that exhaust gas goes through in the shim stock. The shim stock comes in various thicknesses so ask the parts counter person which would work best, around .006" should be fine as far as thickness goes. You can also use a soda can for the metal, but it may not last very long.

Egr flow insufficient

Depends on the year, make, model and engine size to determine the reason for the insufficient EGR flow which sets a p0401 engine code. If it is a Ford vehicle the most common failure is a bad DPFE sensor. If it is a GM vehicle with an electronic EGR valve, the valve is usually bad. Most imports use a EGR temp sensor which ends up being a bad sensor or vacuum line to the valve. Send me more info and I will be glad to help you fix the problem.

How do I blank off egr valve on a 2007 suzuki grand vitara

which engine? of the many? (open hood and see?)
it needs to be cleaned.
and will fail EGR tests. and glow the CEL and throw EGR , DTC errors for ever and then smog fails and then the smog station fails you.

when you start the modern car, the PCM , resets the EGR to its closed position, if it cant do that (it can tell) it then cycles it to
clear any jams, my guess, is its sticking, so do as all mech do
world wide we clean it. (most cars its a 50,000 mile service point
which i guess, you skipped.)

ill not answer, blank pff. , as it's to simple,
cut a plate, drill hole, bolt it on. what part the , cutting or hole drilling is unknown?

My egr valve on a 2007 suzuki grand vitara DDiS is clicking when I turn off the engine.

why would you do that. (if in usa its illegal and prove of tampering)
1: besides smog (NOX reduction) it does 2 other things.
2: it lowers exhaust valve temperatures, making them last and last.
3: it increase MPG, mileage. (can be proven easy with a simple test)
4: reduces PING, (detonation damage)
NOt only that, the ECU/PCM will fail the P04xx tests. and then not be able to inject or run spark advance correctly (see ping)

how to make a blank off, why? just unplug it.

Where is the piont where you plug in the diagnostic connector on a 2001 petral vitara

The common faults on this engine are EGR valve and IAC valve.
The EGR causes rough running and cutting out,
The IAC causes just cutting out without the rough running, stalling at junctions etc is the usual complaint.
If you pm me the cars reg, chassis no etc i could see if i could email you the manual its a pdf so should be quite straight forward.

I have a 2006, and I was just advised that it is the EGR valve, which cost 624.24 to replace. It is not a warranty item. Do you have any knowlege if this is an ongoing problem.
