Same problem in my 2000 C280. Through dumb luck I was able to correct it in the way that I later found described in the Nov 13, 2005 post here: http://www.benzforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7716. No guarantee that will help you, but it did solve it for me. Good luck.

SOURCE: 6 disc changer will not eject cds==

One common solution is to disconnect the negative battery cable for 10minutes. When you reconnect, the stereo should reset itself and allow you to eject your CD's . Best of luck!

6 disc cd changer in my 2008 taurus x sel rotates all night and drains the battery what can I do

Have you tried ejecting the cd magazine from the changer? If so, and it's doing this, try gently prying along the top and bottom of the changer while it's making that noise. If it's in the console, there's a possibility that something got spilled into the magazine at some point (maybe a long time ago) and has now literally got the magazine stuck. If you get it out, try taking out the 4 small screws to see if there is any residue in there. If so, rubbing alcohol and q-tips are a great way to clean it up. Hope this helps.

Jaguar 6 disc player not working

If you are getting power to the unit and you hear it clicking and making a sound when you hit the eject button, the this means that a CD is jammed in the track and while it was changing it got stuck and now causes you to see an ERROR message.
What you do is while hitting the eject button, wiggle the CD MAGAZINE up and down and side ways. This will cause the CD to fall into place and your magazine will pop out.

I have the same exact problem as the person who posted the following, which is so well written that I couldn't improve upon it: The 6 CD changer in the trunk of my 1999 Ford Taurus SE stopped working all...

this sounds like the belt in the changer has broken, this belt operates the tray that hold the magazine, so its trying to eject it but is not moving upward also this belt spins the discs, you will need to remove the unit and had a belt out in it, ive had a couple of these repaired it cost about 100.00 dollars, at an audio repair shop also had one that the carriage was bad. hope this helps.

Honda CRV CD Changer Magazine in permanent eject

One of the advantages of buying a car new is the warranty and the service. Even if you are putting it in wrong it is part of the service to have them show you how to use it. There should be a section in the manual that will instruct you as well.

Read the manual and if you still can't get it to work, take it back and see what they find. The reason warranties are issued is because not everything works just because it is new.

Hope this helps
