My AC does not blow cold air, I have a Chilton Manual and would like to repair this without paying for it to get done. So my question is where do I start to find the problem? All the manual does is tell me how to replace certain parts- not how to find the problem.
First you need to find out if the system is charged fully. If you have a low charge then you can but 134a with leak detecting dye in it. Add it to your system and then after it leaks down a black light will show you where it is leaking. Be sure the compressor is engaging and all the fuses are good. Let me know if you need more info. Good Luck

Your refrigerant level is probably low, causing the low pressure switch to open the circuit to the compressor so it doesn't burn up.
Assuming the system is just low (and not completely out) of refrigerant, you can buy a can of R134a with a gage at auto part stores and attempt to recharge the system yourself.
Attach the recharge hose and follow the instructions on the can. Put a jumper wire on the low pressure switch harness if the compressor does not cycle.....bypassing the switch will turn the compressor on and draw the refrigerant from the can into the system.
