Misfire coil Po301 say miss fire we have change spark plugs and wires we check volts on ciol pack and it good. We are still get that code what to do.

  • Anonymous May 08, 2014

Have you fixed yet? If voltage to coil is good, uou have to check output to number 1 cylinder, using a spark tester, check for spark from #1 wire, if no spark inspect coil for cracks, most likely evident crack, but suspect coil. If you have spark, you will need to verify spark plug is good, highly recommended to use dealer spark plugs, if that is good, move forward with an engine compression test, but most likely coil is your issue or bad plug

SOURCE: miss firing

could be a wire crossed, or it's out of time. since you used motorcraft plugs, did you set them properly to the correct gap? replacing plugs without gapping them can cause the sluggishness, out of time can cause the mis-fires and rough running.

I have a miss fire on cylinder 2and 3 I have changed coil pack ,spark plugs and wires still have the missing in it did not make a difference what else can I do

Is the computer code coming up as a misfire or are you actually feeling the misfire when you drive? Make sure all the grounds for the coil packs and engine are solid and clean. Many times there is rust corrosion under the pack or the retaining screws etc, Low compression can feel like a misfire as well. If all items are OK do a compression check to verify its not an issue.

I have a 1996 crown vic i need to know these trouble codes po301 po304

PO300 Codes-- are cylinder misfires

PO301 thru PO308

Last # is the cylinder

Could be bad ignition coil for a cylinder
or a coil pack for that side, depending what
engine you have

#1 &#4 are at the front & back of the passenger
side of your motor or firewall side if transverse

You will need to provide details of who worked on it
& exactly what was done besides replace a coil based
on a code

Codes aren't very good with COP Ignition but a complete
coil pack on one side should take care of some issue

Vacuum Leaks & other items can cause misfires & the codes
don't tell you to replace ignition parts as you may have

My husband did a tune up on my car yesterday and now it wont start it will turn over like it wants to start but it wont he said that its miss firing we have bought 3 new coil packs and still will not start...

If your car is miss firing and your husband changed the coil packs, the wires leading from coil packs to sparkplugs must have got crossed. This will change car timing which will result in the car miss firing. He needs to go over wiring and correct problem for car to run right. You can go online to autozone.com and type in Info about car to get the correct wiring layout.Your problem isnt the new plugs n wires. Its the wiring layout.

MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 4 AND 6 WITH AN ENGINE LIGHT ON

Check the coil packs on the plug if equipped with that type, or the coil packs at the end of the spark plug wires, if so equipped.

Also, check that the fuel injectors are firing on all 8 cylinders.

Definitely, check out what other codes are stored in the computer besides a missing condition.

I have a 1999 Expedition that had a miss on a cylinder, and it turned out to be a bad coil pack. You have 2 cylinders missing, so I would check each cylinder for good spark, or replace the coil packs as necessary to see if that resolves the problem.

Good luck on this repair.
