Check the fuse first! if it is ok, then remove the wire from the horn and hook a test light to it to see if there is any power to horn under hood. push on horn button while checking for power to horn. if there is power to horn, then either the horn or ground is bad.on most cars, horn is grounded by the car body. if no power to the horn and the fuse and wire is ok, then its the horn button. good-day! to test horn, disconnect the horn wire, run a wire from battery positive to the horn connection just touch the horn connection with the wire from battery. if ok it will work.

Not being smart but get a manual or youtube it. You need to remember that the air bag is located near the horn device. You can be hurt by the bag if it inflates.

Horn is out on a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero limited. What parts needed to fix it?

check horn relay works
get a 12v probe and test the horn switch works when pressed
12v should be supplied to the horn relay coil contact when the horn switch is pushed on.
Also check the fuse.
Check voltage going to horn when pressed
horn might be negatively switched so 12v positive is on one side of horn and relay switches ground negative .
You will find the horn relay under the bonnet in a relay compartment most likely

Mitsubishi manuals

Given the age, the horn itself has probably rusted internally. Take a spare bulb and connect one side to the horn pins, the other to ground. Pressing the horn button will light the bulb if the circuit is OK. Replace the horn if required.

Horn doesn't work

Make sure that the wires are grounded. One should be connecting to the horn itself, while the other one should be bolted onto the car nearby. I had this exact problem with my '03, and I felt like such an idiot when I finally figured out that my second wire wasn't grounded

Old old Ford F250(1978), horn doesn't work, neither does gas or odometer (but I'm looking for fixes for the horn)

Chances are the horn is burnt out, the gas gauge will require a new fuel tank gas gauge sending unit and the odometer will require the speedomenter be removed and sent out for repair, the little gear drive for the odometer is broken

Horn blows constantly, doesn,t blow the fuse or anything else. can this problem be outside of the horn blowing assy. on the steering wheel? it,s a 2000 galant. problem occurs all the time if the switch is...

  • The horn relay might have welded contacts (stuck in the on position). Pulling the relay should stop the horn.
  • The wiring harness on the steering column might have a broken wire to the horn relay shorting to someplace that applies power to the relay. In this case, turning the steering wheel all the way to one side or the other may stop the horn, and it won't sound when you press the horn button.
  • The horn button in the steering wheel is stuck on or shorted.
